125 Filtration Choices

Which type of filter and filter media would be good for a 125gallon FOWLR with an average bioload? Any experiences with certain skimmers for this size tank?

Are you talking HOT filters? If so, I like the aquaclear series, maybe run 2 500s.

Are you talking an in-sump or HOB skimmer? For in sump the aquaeuro classic 135 or 250, or the recirc 135. For an HOB the bermuda aquatics archipeligo is very nice, and one of the few that could handle a 125. The tunze 9010 also fits in the tank and would be a great skimmer, better than the above, but far more expensive.

An Simple Sump would be used, not hot filters.

i agree, unless you can fit the classic 400 in there. my classic 400 will be here tomorrow, so if you have a week to decide, keep an eye on me. i will be posting pics, as well as comments on the performance of the skimmer.

the 400 is definately the best, if you can fit it . The recirc 265 looks nice too, but I think the 400 has it beat.
