125 gal center brace breaks

I got home from work today only to see that the center brace on my 125 came un caulked.
Only one side came un caulked and the rock was high enough that it is holding it up now.
I made two braces to hold the center together.
Whe I got home the center was a half inch wider than the rest of the tank.
I plan on draining the tank down far enough to recaulk the brace.
I do not have a month for it to dry, what should I use?
Should I cut the brace out and re caulk the whole thing?

use only 100% pure silicone, it will cure in about 24-48 hrs. you may lower water level some and get a clamp that reaches outside. Lowes or HD has them in the lumber dept. save reciept and they will refund when done. REEF-ON!!!

make sure u get the right silcone! Saw on a link where someone used bathroom or kitchen silicone, has something in it, not for Tanks. Been having a bit of bad luck with this tank of late. Need some help call me will be home Monday Morning.

I don't know what else could go wrong.
After posting this I will probably find out.
If I have another major problem I will be hanging it up.
I plan on buying some aquarium silicone from Sea Creatures. Last time I was in there I almost picked some up, just to have on hand.
I have def tech training Mon so I will not be able to fix it right away.
Thanks for the offer Island Hopper
Island hopper do you have a clamp that is 20 inches wide?

Silicone without any fungicide will work. Steve at GWA is very familiar with what type to use. You can ask him, but you do not have to spend the large dinero for "aquarium" silicone.

The bar clamps you find in the lumber department will work quite well for what you are describing. YOu might possibly want to use wo pieces of wood on the outside to sort of extend down the bar clamps, with the clamps actually holding the wood pressed against the tank.

Once you get the bar clamp in place, then just add the water back in slowly. You might even be able to do it as soon as you get the clamp on, as it should hold fine I'd expect.
