How did you catch him without harming your corals?
Some members of my reef club call me the "fish whisperer"
I sat down next to the tank, had a long talk on why he had to leave for the overall health of the reef and he finally understood and jumped into the net.:D

I just used a couple of nets and slowly got him where I wanted him and into the net, took about 5 mins.

nice color

nice color

By the way, what kind of glue do you use to fix sps on liverock?
It doesn't seem gel-type superglue to me.

For most I use gel superglue, I also have used 2 part epoxy, which pieces are you talking about?

Any particular kind of two part epoxy? I don't want to take the rock out of the water...just add the frags rock to the live rock.

Marineland make the epoxy, I would still use the superglue gel though, it is much easier to use and also doesn't look as bad. When you use the SG Gel put a nice size blob on the rock you want to attach out of the water, when you put it in the tank a film will form over the superglue, when you press it against the rock it will go through the film and attach the 2 rocks, hold it for about 5-10 seconds and let go.

The one used in this picture.

That's actually an LPS, ecinophyllia, the only reason I used epoxy is that someone bought me some cheap superglue gel and it wasn't cutting it so I used that.

If you use epoxy, can you attach coral on the liverock underwater? Also, did you have overskimming problem when you use it?

One reason I don't like using epoxy is that it takes hours or days to dry underwater. My skimming really isn't affected.

Gosh those are awesome pictures. What kind of camera are you using? I think you said it was a sony.

It's the Sony DSC-T1, a great Point and Shoot camera. The adapter it the marine adapter made for it allowing me to put the camera in the tank, eliminate the glass and get within an inch of any coral, also shoot from different sides of a coral.
Here's the adapter

The camera isn't made anymore the marine pack just dropped from $250 to $99. I got it for scuba also.
I can get better macros now than I could with that $2000 camera

Wow!! :eek1: You latest pictures are so amazing I had to go get my little point and shoot Sony and check out what it is. I have a DSC- P10 . It is 5MP. Do you think that mine can do that? You have some amazing pictures! Keep them coming. :D

I have the T1 which is a Point and Shoot just like yours, the way I can take this great pics is putting the camera actually in the tank. Here's the sony page with all of the marine adapters.

I didn't see one for your camera but double check just in case. I'm gonna try and get some more pics today.

My Sony DSC is messing up :( It has a pink horizontal line across LCD and it also appears on the pics. Has something to do with the chip inside. Sucks... repairs from Sony almost cost of a new camera.

I'm looking for a local LFS that will donate like a 300g system to me and they'll be my sponsor. I'd buy a very high percentage of my stuff there, they'd make plenty off of the contents from me.

I also probably shouldn't post the new heniochus that I just put in the tank, he has 3 banners, which I've never seen.

70412Bannerfish.jpg

That looks like a Longfin Bannerfish (Heniochus acuminatus) which is Not reef safe.

However the Schooling Bannerfish (Heniochus diphreutes) which looks almost identical is reef safe. The trick is identifying which Heniochus it is.

You can distinguish the two by the last black stripe on their body. On the Longfin Heniochus Bannerfish the last black stripe ends just above the corner of the anal fin, while on the Schooling Bannerfish the last black stripe ends down farther right at the bottom corner of the anal fin.
