125 gallon build

We are upgrading from a 40 gallon to 125 gallon. It was inevitable. We found a tank and stand on Craigslist for $200. We are trying to do this as cheaply as possible without sacrificing tank health and looks. Here is a picture of our current tank and the 125 we bought.

The plan is to drill the side and have this be a peninsula tank. We have already built the stand up from 30" to 38" and built a cover to hide the plumbing.

And now we are painting it a light light gray.

Nice job on renovating the stand! I'm looking forward to seeing this up and running. If you need a hand with anything, just let me know.

You Americans!! I bought a 280l tank here in Australia (75gal or so) with a stand and light hood for $500 (absolute bargain I might add and it was second hand and a bit scratched up).. I know the exchange rate isn't the best but wow you guys have some deals over there at ridiculous prices!

I envy the lot of you!

I got a price for a custom tank here about 150g, glass only cut to size and I had to build it. No stand. No lights. Just the glass $1200.

Following BTW. Look forward to the end result. :)
