125g aggressive reef

Here are some pictures of the new guys, and couple of the their tankmates.
first is a 3" damsel that was given to me by Jetdrvr. It became to aggressive for his tank. It fits in well on my tank. I'm not sure what kind it is. Does anyone know?

Nice. I like the new rock work.
I am trying the same thing. I started a fowlr then slowly added some easy corals. I have a puffer reef starting now. Good luck.

thanks. I can't wait to get some more corals in there. The next thing going in is rbta. I want to get a few big water changes done before I add anything else.

Hey Dan

Could you take a couple of pictures of your fixture please? I'm thinking about buying it for a 125g.

Tank looks great BTW! Tagging along.

Thanks for the compliments everybody.
What kind of pictures do you want? I just ordered the raiser legs last night. When I get the legs I will take some pics of the fixture when its off the tank.

Here are some pictures of the fixture off the tank.

I picked up a rose BTA on friday. Within 1 minute of being in the tank the tomato clown was all over it. But now the rbta is hiding in the rocks. here is the best picture I can get.

I might be picking up some coral frags from another reefcentral guy this week. When I do I will post some pictures.

your tang looks a little faded? are you feeding enough algae?
All your fish look really good otherwise, great job on the tank!

Thank you billsreef for changing the title of my thread.

BMGrocks if you are talking about the picture of the yellow tang on the bottom of page 1, then it is just the whitebalance in the picture that is giving it that color. It is really a vibrant yellow color. If anything I think I might feed tank to much. I feed an 1/8 of sheet of nori everyday along with some pellets. I change the pellets up every day from new life specturm thera +, or formula 1 or 2, kent with zoecon. Along with the daily feedings I feed frozen mysid soaked in garlic extract and selcon or zoecon 2-3 times a week. I target feed the eel and lionfish with sliversides and shrimp soaked in the same thing as the mysid shrimp 3-4 times a week.

My rbta that I bought last week is still hiding. I don't think it is looking to good. The 4" tomato clown is being rough on it, stressing it, and not letting it acclimate properly. I might pull it out and place it in 20g high with some rock. What do you guys think? Should leave it in there longer or seperate it from the clown?

well today I picked up the frags from jetdrvr, and moved the rbta. the rbta looked horrible when I moved it. It's mouth was gaping and it had shrunk a lot. I placed it in 20gH tank w/ two koralia 2s, a cpr bak pak, and 150w phnx 14k bulb. In just about an hour it showed great improvement and had its mouth almost pulled completely shut. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for now. the corals I picked up weren't exactly frags. I picked up 2 acropora sp., an encrusting monti, and 2 heads of a toadstool mushroom. thanks again jetdrvr. I will have pictures of everything tomorrow.

well here are the pictures of the new corals I got from jetdrvr.

These pictures were taken just about 24hrs after the corals were placed in the tank.
This is what the rbta looked liked when I pulled out of the 125g

It wasn't looking to good. I was worried but 24hrs later it looked like this

I think it will make it now and here is the 20gH that I setup for the rbta. ignore the reflections from the windows.

I really like how the 20gH looks I might keep it setup as a nano, but I will need a quieter skimmer.

I wish I would have seen that Sargassum before you! I had one and it was my favorite fish until he jumped one night. Had him for over a year and loved to be pet and hand fed.
