Roger, I read through most of the posts over the past month trying to get an idea of what would be best for my tank and I must say I am still stumped. Right now, I am getting about 800 gph out of my return from my sump and about another 900 from 3 maxi-jet 1200's. I want to replace the maxi-jets due to their high power consumption (at least in my opinion (20 watts each running 24hrs a day)). I thought about trying out a single 6060 and then going from there. What do you think? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Patrick

I have 2 6100 in my 180 with a multi controller. I have toned them done to create wave action. I would thing your idea would be great. Anything besides the eyesores of multi powerheads. YOU WILL ENJOY THE SMOOTH FLOW FORM THE TURBELLS SYSTEM. IT IS FANTASTIC. SHOULD OF DONE IT WHEN I STARTED WITH REEF SYSTEMS.
One 6060 won't cover the tank, the flow is 4ft by 2ft. In a narrower tank like that it might cover 5ft. I think 2 6060 might work better. As dustin pointed out the electronic versions are nice because you can adjust the flow but probably not necessary for a FOWLR. The 6080 covers 5-6 ft but I generally think it is better to have a flow from both directions if possible.
