I am going to be moving at some point an hour away from where I am now. I have a 55g Reef with SPS. I have the luxury of being able to take my time to do so. I am plainng on upgrading to a bigger tank. I have an area that will fit a 60" tank so I was thinking of going with a 125g 60x18x24 i think it is? Or something around those dimensions. Any way I want to transfer the SPS I have, but I think I want to upgarde my 48" 6x54 Nova Extreme Pro and my powerheads. I want to be able to keep SPS. What light fixture do any of you recommend? Should I keep what I have and just add LED's or maybe even MH's? What 2 controllable Hydors would you recommend? I have 2 Hydor 4's in my 55g now. I think I have everything else. I have a great skimmer in the Warner Marine MF 181 thats not a year old... please and advice to make this an easy, nice build is really appreciated!

Anybody with a tank this size I would love to see your pics!

Hi, a standard 125 gallon has the dimesions of 72"x18"x21". Not sure on the height, but the length is 72" for sure. I have seen 100 gallon tanks with the dimesions that you list though. I have one, and 60"fixtures are out there, but may be just slightly harder to find.

I think the tank that you are thinking of is a 120 gallons tank with the dimension of 60"x18"x26"H. My brother in law has a tank like that. Its very good looking tank. BUT it is only 18" in width, very limited for sps and for water movement. If you have space, get the 150 gallons with the dimensions of 60"x24"x24".
Anyway, back to your questions. If you want a nice sps tank and have you heart set on that 120 gallons with the 18" width, then you need a good light. How about an ATI SunPower 6x80watts light? That light is 5 foot long and it fit the width of 18". This light is perfect for that tank. You don't need to add any more led or anything else to the fixture. It has enough power for you to grow sps anywhere in your tank.

Also get two more Dosers to dose Alk and Cal and you are all set.
Get a 40 gallons breeder at Petco for 40 bucks and use it as a sump.
Eheim 1620 for return.

following! good luck with the move. I live in Illinois and am moving to California in a year, and trying to figure out how to take corals with me. (I, too, can take my time moving everything, but still) I'll be checkin back to see how you do it.

I like the thought of the 150 and may go for that. I actually already have 3 dosing pumps from BRS, I have 2 1.1mL and a 50mL. As far as the sump I was thinking of using my 55g but its tall and a 40 might be better.
with the lights could I just add a 2 bulb fixture to what I have? Would probably look nicer if I got 1 fixture. I love the shimmer of the LED's but scared to go that route. I have been using T5's for years and they have always done me good!
