12g Aquapod to 20g Tank

I know I should probably have put this into the Nanotank forums but since I plan on doing "The Package" from TBS or some derivation I figured I put it here.

I just setup a 12g Aquapod and I'm starting to not like the limiting factors of this tank, most specifically not being able to put a protein skimmer on.

1. Let it stay in the Aquapod, not sure what I'm doing with the Aquapod, Might go freshwater.

2. Put it in the new tank and let it recycle?

3. Just get "The Package" and add that stuff in later.

Thanks for help in advance.

edit: Took out the tank setup and stuck with the main question for this forum, posting setup in Nanotanks.

ShadowBear, stick with the original plan and go with saltwater in your Aquapod. Hopefully someone in the Nanotank subforum will be able to suggest a good hang-over-the-back (HOB) skimmer for the tank. Here's my nano story:

I have a 6 gallon Nano Cube from JBJ with a TBS reef inside and no protein skimmer. It came with this sponge that goes into chamber 2 but I threw it away and put live sand in that chamber. I have a bag of Purigen in chamber 1 which I change once a month. I added a Koralia Nano powerhead for flow as well.

I'll post a picture of it tonight.

Hey Teri,

I've kind of already changed plans, I tend to do that.

I'm keeping the Aquapod as is and probably just do a FWLR out of it with clean-up crew.

I've decided to setup the 20gal with a brand new tank, just waiting on most of the parts to get to me.

I'm going to use my old tank to store the extra water for the TBS package and once that is settled down I'm going to change that tank over to a sump/refugium.

Thanks for the great advice, still trying to get my head around everything.
