I've got a 12g jbj nano cube that has recently been getting really warm. The highest I've seen it get is 83. It's not the room that it's in there are no windows and the ac is on 24/7. The heat is coming from the lights. Has anyone seen this before? My fans are both still spinning is it possible that they're just not spinning enough?? Any info would be appreciated.

You could do a couple things. First, do you still have the stock pump? If yes, then replace that with a maxi jet. They are much more efficent and run much cooler. My 12 gal dropped 1.5-2.0 degrees when I replaced my stock with a MJ600. Also, you could reverse the fans from their stock orientation. If I remember correctly the fans blow outward, but if you filp them to blow inward it forces more heat out. You can actually feel the heat coming out of the side vents. Third is check you thermometer. It is always good to have two to be sure that your intial one if correct. My second one is just a stick on one, but is always right on with my digital one. If replacing the pump and reversing the fans don't do it then you are probably looking at a chiller of some sort. The ICA ones are pretty cheap and fit into the JBJ hood nicely. Good luck 
the subject of heat problems has been a subject of discussion literally hundreds of times on this and other forums, threads etc. Take the time to read back. That said, you have two basics choices. A chiller which are expensive although I use the small one for nano tanks sold by nanocustoms or a fan which needs to be monitored for fresh water evaporation. Heat problems are a bane for many sized tanks in the summer but especially the smaller ones.

Is your nanocube the 12g (1 x 24W light) or 12g dx (2 x 24W lights)?
Fan reversal is all that my DX needed to stay under 81 degrees. I have not replaced my pump, but am considering getting a MJ900. Not for the heat, but to increase the flow a bit.
There is another mod mentioned at nano-reef.com which involves taking the reflector/heat shield and flattening it with holes cut out for the fans. It looks a little tricky and I haven't needed to do that.

Does not make sense that this is happening now assuming room temps over the summer have stayed constant. I have 4 different Nano style tanks set up in my law office and temp issue have been ongoing except for the tanks that have the icu nano chiller installed. I had it put in by nanocustoms and a 24 gallon has stayed at a steady 78. Personally, I do not think I could have installed it but for about 100, it may be a good investment. Personally, for those with temp problems, I am also of the opinion that a chiller, while expensive, is the only way to go. Contact Chris at Nano customs. Their site is easy to find. His company just mods nano tanks.
