I have a 12gal Nano Cube DX and I heard if you don't have a skimmer it is a good idea to do a water change every week or so, but how much should I take out at a time? thanks

I go the 10% route so around 1 gallon per week. depending on where your corals are, you may need to keep a little cup/mister to keep them wet from the time water goes out until back in.

Remember than a 12g nanocube only holds about 10 gallons of water when full. Less once the rock and sand is in, so youre really looking at around 8 - 9 gallons of water.

I did a 3g water change today and after siphoning the water out, the level was almost half way down the tank.

Leaving corals exposed for a few minutes is not a problem. Your water change water should be ready to go once you are siphoning out the dirty water anyway.

I havent done a water change in 4 months on my 12 gal ap and all my tests look good. My tank has been setup for 5 months. Am I in for trouble? Again my tests look good and at the first sign of trouble I can react because I test once a week. Should I change water anyway?
