*** 14th Annual All Ohio Frag Swap ***

Why not wait to everything was ready before posting, thats not going to help you sell stuff without proper amounts or pictures. I don't get it?

Hi Mike,

Don't know if your still in Hawaii but get the pictures up, I might be interested in some of your corals.

Dave

Im not sure he understands the purpose of the swapper, its not to show your going to have these corals its for listing them with an amount to help you track your sales and offer these corals to people. Giving a heads up that there coming isn't what the site is for. Use RC for that.

Hi,

There will be plenty of corals not even listed on Fragswapper to buy. If you can't walk away with at least 6 corals then you must have sat in your car for the whole frag swap. A good selection of vendors + many hobbiest = good pickin's.

So does that mean that everything good is going to be gone and I shouldn't bother coming?

No there is always a ton of good stuff to choose from BUT it does mean you should check www.Fragswapper.com daily to see if there is anything you want to reserve since things are hectic at the actual swap. Just be sure that if you reserve something you want on fragswapper that you WILL follow through on it or contact the seller AS SOON as you find out you won't be able to make it. It is very inconvenient to cut up a coral and package it then take it to the swap and the person doesn't show. Some sellers will kep track of who does that and will just not accept their request to buy anymore.

I know several sellers got stung and left holding corals that weren't picked up last year. Most guys will sell anything that is reserved if it is not picked up by 2 o'clock or so unless contacted by that purchaser.

It is a great experience and if you are used to paying retail for corals you will be shocked and amazed at the things you can buy.

I just listed a few corals on fragswapper too so go check them out

I'd say fragswapper makes up 1/8 of the sales there tops
Erik

Yep. Most of the sales happen the day of, at the swap. Its getting closer. I have a thread going on coralreefers.org about the swap, directing them back here for detailed info. Is anyone getting threads started on other boards to get the buzz up?

Dude, You're my Hero.
I was wondering. Could you help me with all of my posts?

You know...since you seem to lurk about to critique and criticize almost every post I put up or reply to and now how I post in fragswapper.

Could we just work something out where I send all my posts through you and you edit them for me and then kick them back to me. This way I can post and reply in the manner and message that you approve of?

LMK.

PS...photos are being shot and uploaded today and tomorrow.
Not sure if I will have time, but If I can get some with 10K vs 14K bulbs I will try for some folks that have other bulbs. Would have gotten 20K's too but I couldn't get my hands on one in time. Also will update the sizing and hopefully scientific names as I locate them for those who may want/need to know. ****My apology to any out there who feel put off that I am not posting the photos as complete.

I could delete them if you'd like. You seem to really not make much sense to anyone I know of. The random thoughts you post just seem to confuse most. Your a hard person to follow, hense the comments made by me and others in the past. If you really need a hand I can help you but the way you post on swapper again is not the way to do things.
Simple
Post what you have for sale in multiple threads
List the amount and price you have of that item forsale..not I will no more in march. If your not sure how many wait till march to post then.
Post a picture to help others decide on the purchase.
pretty simple, this is the first time in 2 years I think that I've had to explain things like this.

Glad to be your hero :)

FDfiremedic,

I hope the info I sent you helps you with posting your photos with your listings on fragswapper rather than having folks kick back to your RC gallery.

Mike.

Hmmm, not sure I get exactly the tone of the previous posts.

FWIW, I understand how to use fragswapper, but I think that before it gets running, it would be a valuable thing to post in this forum, a refresher on the tool (how to) and it's purpose, in the week before the event is registered. Just something to think about for the future.

I didn't notice a problem with Mike's listings, for example. Although I guess it would be good habit for us all to list our corals when able and ready to post the pictures. Maybe, in fact, one of my six listings might be considered in a strict sense, not exactly correct. I listed a coral that I don't expect there to be much interest in, if any. To that end, I didn't want to frag the coral unnecessarily. So, there is not a "real" number of available frags, but a number of "potential" frags. I see now that this can lead to confusion (not to mention it is far better to have healed, encrusted frags, rather than fresh ones for trade or sale).

To single someone out (and I mean this with absolutely no disrespect, none, zero, please don't be offended) there is one post showing many frags in a single listing with a single picture saying something along the lines of "I'll have lots of this type of coral at the swap." All the frags looks like different color morphs. There was no way to request a specific frag. Now, that clearly was more appropriate for RC and a good example of how not to use fragswaper. And it wasn't Mike. :)

By the way, I have to say that the more I read Kevin's posts (across this forum), the more respect I have for his generosity of time and consideration of others. I haven't made his acquaintence formally, but he sets an example for us all. His post below should make the swap more enjoyable for new attendees, lots of great advice. Kudos are in order.

Gosh, a long post for me. I am really looking forward to the swap this year. Thanks for your efforts Erik, and to all the club members and officers who help make this a reality.

Cheers,
Ben

I wasn't trying to single mike out before, just to help him with his post over there as Im the moderator. Not sure why he got upset but he did, so I reply back as nicely as I could :)

The swapper site can be confusing to use, it takes a few tries to really figure out how to navigate it quickly. I wish there was a easy way to say click here here and here but I cant seem to figure out how to type that all out without confusing people more :)

All I can say is give it a few tries if you still have troubles, pm me for advice
Erik
