150 Redux

Anytime Ah64av8tor - and those are very nice photos. I just keep looking at them and I see something else, like those big beautiful blue eyes!

Here are the old pinks and the great grandmother of my new RBTA.

I just got up to go to bed and checked the tank to see how things are going.

I don't believe it the skunks have kicked the Ocelarious out of their Frogspawn. I guess they are going to make them self right at home.

This morning when the lights came on it was obvious that the ocellaris had a bad night and didn't sleep well, they are ****ed! Since the lights have been on they have been relentless in there retaliation toward their home invaders. The ocellaris have never showed the least bit of interest in the RBTA, I hope the skunks figure out that the anemone will be a safe haven for them.

I just tested the water the in the 65 and the #s are:
Ca 450
Alk 3.4 meq/l 9.5Dkh
Mg 1350
I thought I had the dosing dialed in, but it seems that my Alk is dropping I like it to be closer to 12 Dkh.

Well its time to get back to usual Sunday tank stuff.

I don't want to have to call the fish police, but I will.:) I hope they are good and tired after their day of aggression, and get a good night sleep in the comfort of their old bed and wake up on the happy side of the frogspawn tomorrow morning.

Ack! Skunks and Ocellaris fighting. We had the same thought as you and have a pair of skunks in QT right now thinking they would host in the RBTA when they make it to the big tank. Now I am worried they might beat up on our percullarisis (think we actually have a mixed pair). Keep us posted on how it goes and if you have any luck in getting them into your RBTA.

Your tanks looking good by the way. What kind of blueish zoas are in the pics, and can I trade you for some next time? :D

I am going to try and nurse the superman monti along so if it gets bigger we can break you off a piece. Jeff thinks its too tiny to frag right now.

p.s. Thanks for all the help with Jeff. I think ganging up on him is working :mixed:

Christy,

In the old 65 I had 2 pairs Skunks and Ocellaris, and they got a long fine. the Skunks are hanging out right over the RBTA and the tentacles are just barley touching the fish, so I think it will not take long. That anemone is expanding bigger and bigger every day but the tips havent bubbled up yet.

The blue zoas are very funny, sometimes they look Green with gold centers and then they look teal and sometimes real blue. I don't know what they will look like under your lights, but you are welcome to have some.

Let the superboy grow up to be a superman and Ill get some later.

Thanks Cristy,

That was my favorite variation of GSP, I hope it grows for you know that you don't have that worm chomping on it anymore.

nice anemone

Thanks its about an 8th generation Aquacultured RBTA.

It is just starting to bubble back up.:) its still walking around the rock but has stayed on the rock I want him on, I keep my fingers crossed that he picks a spot and stays put.

I got a few new frags to add to the list, unfortunately I didn’t sell enough frags to make room for them all and ended up having to set the 20 prop tank back up.

Acropora loisettae, Steve Elias Stag
Acropora horrida, Turquoise
Acropora sp., Light green W/Blue tip could be A. desalwii
Acropora nasuta, Fuzy Green
Acropora nasuta., White W/ Blue tip
Montipora verrucosa, Green W/ Purple polyps
Montipora danae, Superman, Blue W/ Red polyps
Montipora undata, Green W/ purple rim
Montipora capricornis, Purple
Montipora digitata, Neon Green
Montipora peltiformis, Purple polyps

In my recent frag trading ventures I have seen some real nice corals and my wish list keeps getting bigger and bigger. I’m still looking for the true Tyree Montipora undata Idaho Grape and the ever elusive Acropora solitaryensis and Acropora effluorescens.

Looking good Greg.

The frag I picked up from Jeff is branching on me (not the cap but the other). The cap is looking good but I cannot tell if it is grownig on me yet. When I first added it to the tank it started to get bleached so I lowered it in the tank and now the color has come back and its all orange again. The frag I picked up from you is also slowly branching now as well. I need to get pic's so you can tell me what's what again as I am bad with those names still.

O2,

I think you got the Raspberry Montipora digitata but it might have been green. it was dark when we got home.

You got the mint green Acropora tenuis, I,m not sure of the other.

Yes the mint green Acropora tenuis is doing good. I have between a 1/4 and a 1/2 inch growth on it so far where it is branching.
