I am in the process of picking up a 150g RR Oceanic tanks, sump etc etc etc. It also comes with a chiller, and UV sterilizer among other itmes. I'm going to make this into a reef tank and have been trying to come up with a good stocking plan before I get the tank and that way I know what I am going to get and don't get something that won't work. I keep my SG at 1.024 and will have close to if not over 200 lbs of LR in the tank. Anyways, here is the list I have currently. I will add/subtract fish as needed.

1 Yellow Tang- Zebrasoma Flavescens
1 Naso Tang- Naso Lituratus
1- Powder Blue(or brown)- Acanthurus Leucosternon
1- Kole Tang- Ctenochaetus Strigosus
2- Golden Head Sleeper Goby- Valenciennea Strigata
3- Firefish Goby- Nemateleotris Magnifica
1- Snowflake Eel- Echidna Nebulosa
8- Blue/Green Chromis- Chromis Viridis
2- Jewel Damsel- Microspathodon Chrysurus
2- Fale Ocellaris Clowns- Amphiprion Ocellaris
1- Gold Striped Maroon Clown- Premnas Biaculeatus
3-5 Banggai Cardinals- Pterapogon Kauderni (captive bred only)
1- Lemon Peel Angel- Centropyge Joculator
1- Flame Angel- Centropyge Loriculus
1- Coral beauty Angel- Centropyge Bispinosus

Sunstrate will be aragonite black/white sand, blue and red legged hermits, Cleaner Shrimp, Nasssrius snails and astrea snails will be used as well plus the addition of many pods. Also, Calurpa will be grown in the sump/fuge. Is this too many fish or should they be ok? I feed a TON of different foods and there will be plenty of rock work for "freedom" from others. And of course, after the tank is setup, there will be NO additions until at least 1.5 moths. Thanks

In my 135g I had a yellow tang, kole tang, and naso tang. All were at least 7 inches. I never had any fighting what so ever. I keep at least 2 seaweed clips in the tank (one at each end) and they always had something in them and all fish were nice and plump.

I know it is too many. I wanted to know what you guys thought I should leave off of it. And actually, I might be getting a 200g instead.

Some nice choices there.

Agree with what has been said above however. Probably fewer tangs for even the 200 makes sense. Of course there is all the Tang Police stuff but mainly, IMO, well-fed tangs are super messy and boisterous. Having four of them (ultimately grown into full size) in a 6' tank will probably not be the best setup for a sucessful reef. I like the idea of an eel and the snowflakes are usually pretty well behaved but you are still risking losing some stuff to it as it gets larger (they dont always follow the rulebooks about diet). Up to you of course, just make sure you have a good cover and try and start pretty small with that one. The three angels would be fine, of course you know they will likely pick at things here and there (or possibly not....I have a flame and two atlantic pygmies in my reef with little issue)

So, with all that in mind, here is what I am recommending will work a little better for your reef:

1 Yellow Tang- Zebrasoma Flavescens-nice choice, pretty and inexpensive fish
0- Naso Tang- Naso Lituratus- gets very large, likely very hard to keep long term even in a 200.
0- Powder Blue(or brown)- Acanthurus Leucosternon-prone to ailments, pricey and not particular hardy even when you get a good one.
1- Kole Tang- Ctenochaetus Strigosus-can be fiesty but you will have space for it to rule the roost. Start on a smaller one than the yellow. Or consider a Flame-fin tang (another bristlemouth tang)
2- Golden Head Sleeper Goby- Valenciennea Strigata-nice fish, do best with a SSB
?- Snowflake Eel- Echidna Nebulosa-note above

Choose three of the following groups:
3-6- Firefish Goby- Nemateleotris Magnifica cool fish
8- Blue/Green Chromis- Chromis Viridis
3-7- Jewel Damsel- Microspathodon Chrysurus-add late in the game, may regret them even then. 2 isn't a good social group as one will likely kill or cow the other over time (3-5-7 work better to diffuse the aggression)
2+- Fale Ocellaris Clowns- Amphiprion Ocellaris you can do a very nice social group of these with 4-6 immatures, a female and ultimately a host anemone (wait a year or so, tank should be well-established and stable for the anemone).
0- Gold Striped Maroon Clown- Premnas Biaculeatus not my favorite due to aggression and will likely not tolerate the false percs. If its a must-have, ditch the fps for a pair of maroons.
3-5 Banggai Cardinals- Pterapogon Kauderni (captive bred only) another nice choice, why not pair them with a small longspine urchin (make sure your corals are secure before adding this). The longspines get large but most LFS will do a trade-in for a new small one. They will also eat just about any algae you can name.

And two pairs of angels:

0- Lemon Peel Angel- Centropyge Joculator duplicates color in the yellow tang and they are quite touchy. Consider trying to get a pair of flames or pair of CBs (search for methods to do this).
2?- Flame Angel- Centropyge Loriculus-coral/clam nipper, watch for aggression with the CBs
2?- Coral beauty Angel- Centropyge Bispinosus occasional nipper

The above lineup will work IMO. It has some nice groups of fishes that will socialize somewhat (will take some work on your part to establish the groups!). I trimmed your net bioload a bit (10 smaller fishes are less than one naso tang) so you have a little space for the cool wrasse or whatever you saw down at the store). Efficent protein skimming, fuge and as much water volume as you can get into the system will all help you out here too.
