150g stocking

I have a 150g FOWLR setup. What kind, and how many fish can I keep? I defintely want the centerpiece fish to be a zebra moray. All of the fish must be easy to keep, hardy, and can easily be fed. I amthinking of something along the lines of

Zebra moray
Blue hippo tang, or any tang
Jewel damsels, pair
Volitans lionfish
Flame angel
Small trigger.

Is this good? Are all of these fish compatible? Is these too much bioload? I am very leary of overstocking.

you could probably get by with the number of fish you mentioned above in the tank you have. I wouldn't suggest the damsels. If the eel and lion can't fit them in their mouth from the start, they will figure out a way eventually. I don't know how compatible triggers are with anything, I have no experience in that area, but that would be a cool tank.

Side note: I've had a lot of trouble with blue hippo tangs. I'm not 100% sure why but I've had excellent success with other tangs: i.e. yellow tang and scopas tang.

Hmm IMO you can fit more in a 150 than that unless you're out to have you're nitrates at a precise zero(which is far from necessary for FO, you can have a well maintained healthy tank at 30 ppm nitrate) I personally think you can have 5 fish of the 6 inch stature plus an medium eel in a 150 as long.

But zebra eels and lionfish are some of the messier fish so if you want those 2 you'd probably will want 3 fish about 5 inches plus the lion and zebra eel. I'd stray away from damsels.

I'd recommend keeping
Zebra eel
Harlequin tusk
Volitan Lionfish
Blue tang
Humu Triggerfish

That'd be a nice looking tank, nice even balance of color.

If the damsels would get eaten, then why would the flame angel not? What about this

Zebra moray
Tangs
Lionfish
Panther grouper

Would there be enough room for the harlequin tusk fish, or a humu?

I have extreme doubts a zebra moray would take a fish, even a damsel, down. The Volitian lionfish however, will be big enough to shallow the damsels and flame whole fairly quickly (within a year, probably less depending on purchase size).

Honestly, as long 'tangs' is plural because you're unsure which one you want, I see no problem with all those fish on your last list (tusk and humu included), pending enough LR and more then adequate filtration. Just realize final size of the Panther, and know the slight risk with the humu and lion (nipping fins).
