150gal Zeo

Great looking tank. I'm running zeo on my tank also. Hope mine looks as good as your one day. I just got the superblue and I really like them better than the ati blue plus. The color seems crispier and clearer. Also seems brighter

got them in now, i wish i had of gotten 2 more to make 8, mad props to Grim Reefer for helpin with the selection, they look dope.

yup, i agree, the Kz blues are super crisp and bright.

the corals look really cool under these.

Always nice to see your pics John,

How long have you been using the Spur2? I've been thinking of adding it to my Zeo regiment? I'm on 9 months of Zeovit on my 9 month old newest system and loving it!~ Zeovit has been a real treat and a nice diversion from "old school" reefing for me. :wildone:

Let me know on the Spur2 when you get a chance,

Thanks

Thanks Dave, i have been using spur after the 4th change of zeolites, and used it on a regular basis, at 2ml every 10 days. but as for the past 4 months, i havent been using it. without the spur dosing, Coral colors have been light, but not too light. I do notice a change in color after my 2 week water change, colors get lighter for a few days.

Well done

I love the zeo colors

Best Regards

Thank you. I too really enjoy the zeo colors. :D

Looks sweet, but why change your bulbs every 3 mo. Dont they stay good for twice that with no problems

Thanks Matt

The reason for the tube change so often, is that, the zeo guide had a misprint a year ago, and it said that they change out their tubes every 6-8 weeks, so i thought i would go with something similar and every 3 months was the best i could do, then they issued that it was a misprint, that it should have stated 6-8 months. I had alot of success in that short time with changing the tubes often, so i just stuck with it.

The old tubes had a par reading of 250-300 while the new ones have a par of 300-350.

I think i could go longer without a tube change, but while this tank is set up
i am going to stick with 3 month change.

well, i am on the ro water as of tonight, i just made up a batch of water, up until tonight, I was using tap water treated with prime by seachem.

I was thinking of going with RODI water for awhile now as I was curious what my water had inside, so i picked up a TDS meter a few days ago and it was 160-165, so it was natural to want to go with the unit after seeing this.

I tested the tap water prior to be treated by the unit and tonight it was 170. The water from the RO unit was 000

Sweet.

5 gallon cambro... tell me you don't work in restaurants...lol.. very clean up top and down below, way to go bro!!!

so so so, I tested my MG level tonight, :worried: its only at 1000.

I ran my input in the reef chemistry calculator and its say that I would need 356.2 tsps :hmm2: to bring it up from 1000ppm to 1300ppm

does anyone know if this would be correct

John amazing tank, I hope you are selling those bulbs at 3mo use still plenty of people would buy them ( I keep mine for 9months - unfortunately I have lil 24" babies heh )

A question though, I noticed you under dose a lot of the zeo, how did you come to this conclusion? Did you noticed improvements with a lesser dose or just no improvement with the large amount?

Hi, thanks, i do have a close friend that comes by to take my slightly used blubs when the time comes. He has a 16 blubs fixture as well.

I dose zeo mostly based on what is happening in my tank, i use the corals as a guide line.

Less is more with this system, IMHO.
