155G Build Equipment Help

Hi all,
I recently finished my basement and decided to upgrade my 75G to a larger tank. I found an 8mnth old Miracles custom 155G that caught my eye. The dimension are 55x27x24. I really like the 27" width for aquascaping. It has a center overflow with 2-1.5" drains and 1 1" intake. He has alot of equipment for sale that is relatively new as well. Im trying to put together this build and need some advice with what I should get off him and what I should look for elsewhere. This project is planned to be a mixed reef. My plan is for one large center island to cover the overflow with lots of room for fish to maneuver through and around the island. All equipment is around 8mnths to a 1yr old.

Lighting:
2 - 250wat reef optics metal halides with 2 vertex ballasts
1 - 2 foot 4 bulb T5 Tek light
I run T5's on my current tank and like them alot. I have a 36" vertex illumilux LED in blue as my accent lighting. I would rather run a 48" 8bulb Tek T5 fixture with the 36" LED on the new setup if that will work ! (i hope the 36" LED fixture will still give me the shimmer like on my 75)

2 - mp40w vortek pumps with battery backup (prob for sure buying these unless there is alot better option for the price)

2 - 1 inch sea swirls 1500wat ups backup(These are plumbed off the intake and are located on the back corners. Is this overkill with the mp40's)

1 - UF-20 vertex universal reactor with mag drive 700 pump(plan on getting this to run bio pellets)

1 - blue line 70 return pump

1 - pm calcium reactor(was on the fence about this or getting dosing pumps and dosing BRS two part instead. I currently dont do either on my setup,so any advice would be appreciated)

1 - bk200mini protein skimmer(This is 8mnths old. For the price of it used I can get a new Super Reef Octopus, a skimz, or any other highly rated skimmer. Thoughts )

Thanks in advance

You'll have dark spots on the sides since your fixture is 7inches shorter then your aquarium, but it'll work for what you need to accomplish. You plan on doing a large island in the middle and the fixture will cover all of the middle.

I have been reading that the reflectors in the tek fixtures are sub par and if you want to go T5 ATI is the way to go. Any thoughts?

ATI PM is the way to go for T5 for sure. Fan cooled with good reflectors.. regarding the calcium reactor. save yourself some trouble and get a dosing pump. Bubble magus makes a 3 pump dosing pump that comes with a controller which is very popular. GL

I have heard many people tell me to ditch the calcium reactor. I think dosing will be a better way to go as well.
