16'' sohal tang

pair of crosshatches, and a big grumpy sailfin, then a school of yellows to divide the aggression. then a lot of smaller fish that can dive in to the rockwork.

I would also recommend small fish that will be able to hide from the sohal, get some 2" angel fish and grow those out. If you are feeling lucky get a small tang, my orange shoulder hid for a long time in the rock when he was small, I wouldn't get a Naso because those are constantly active and don't hide.

Clown Tang, A big Powder Blue Tang, Naso that is the same size as him, Vlamingi Tang same size as him, Pair or Triggers like Khaos said...Big Angels...a school of yellows would look awesome like 4-5 would be sweet too.

A big aggresive shoal like that would make short work out of any of the tangs mentioned above. The powder Blue will be to small to hold its own and the Valmingi is a docile tang, the yellows would get ripped apart. You could throw in dwarf angels that can hide and will stay close to the rocks.

For the love of GOD!!!! My kingdom for a picture!!!

Honestly though...the only other tang i would even attempt would be a Purple Tang from the Red Sea. A very hardy species that has the best chance of holding its' own in your tank. I do have a male Passer Angel in my reef that hasn't touched my sps or clams. Very well fed, between 5 & 6 inches with adult coloration. My tank is just too small to keep this fish long term. Rather than get too attached, I listed him on the sale forum if you're interested. Can't really discuss here.

But a picture of that beauty would be nice....

or you could put like 30 various damsels in there. lots of color and activity... lots of territory and with lots of little holes to hide in he couldn't catch em.

I saw them at this size or slightly smaller in the wild.
True beasts.

If you dive Ras Mochamed you will see alot of those and in what looks to be even larger, but it might be due to its underwater or the general euphoria of the amazing dives there.

Largest i saw being shipped was about 10".

I have a 23" Vlamingii Tang. Just added it yesterday. Anyone wanna see a pic? ;) I'll check back in next month to see if you did or not.

For those of us in the states, go check them out at the Mandalay Bay Aquarium in Las Vegas. Full grown sohals and vlamingis. Really stunning beasts!

I have seen a 12 inch sohal come in a pet store so i jnow they do occaisionally come in large. I would love to see a 16 incher.

Hmmmm this Jarret guy is on another site with me, and he posts on there everyday, just nothing about this Shoal on that site.

I was going to say! This is the only place (and the tanks throughout ceasar's) where I've seen full grown sohals and all types of nasos. Granted these are in 10s of thousands of gallons, so that helps!

And they were constantly flaring at each other too. Makes for quite a show!
