165Gl to 1000Gl system upgrade (Long project)

was a mass murderer today I thin k as all my life rock arrived today and had 10 designated flat stones gone through a Muratic Acid bath to kill off all life so I can use them in my ravine building project.
They came out real nice and white so I cant imagine how much life I wasted today.
Anyway the other 20 stones that I will use to seed the tank new are still in the LFS to be checked and make sure they dont spoil or die off.
Now still waiting for the foam to arrive from Holland and I can finish my rock scaping project.

want to let the system run through with regular water for about 2 days to give everything a good rinse and a thourough check and then it will be fresh saltwater and the journey can start for real.
hardest thing now is to keep the patience I think .

OK regular water testing has been shortened to just one full day
a few issues I have to work on now.

1 Never under estimate the floating capability of this foam as it pushed 3 rock panels straight up in the tank.
will have to find a way to get those anchored first. Maybe some serious Silicone job on the back of those panels against the glass

2 I think one of the pumps doesn't get enough water flow which results in one making more noise then the other. So will have to make some more holes in the PVC structure to maintain a steady water flow to the pump.

3 Pump to the chiller not working. Is a brand new TAAM HP20 model. This is now the second faulty pump I get from this brand so stay away from this brand.

4 Something is going with the Reeflo Barracuda as it doesn't seem to pump as much water as I would expect it to do so will take it off line and have it opened up and checked before getting back on.

that is about it no leaks or nothing really major (except from the floating panels) so I hope to have it all fixed by tomorrow again.

With all that rock stuck to the foam,I would not have thought it would float.Learn something new every time I read a thread. Thanks for the update

its amazing how this floats. Each panel weighs about 30Lbs and still they float.
Anyway this morning added some large blobs of silicone in between the panels and the glass so I hope that will get them stuck.
Issue now though is that they will be very stuck permanently now.
Still drying as we speak so stay tuned.

OK addressed all 4 problems today

1 Had 2 tubes of silicone in between te panels and the glass so they seem quit stuck to the glass now. Only issue now is that it seem those panels will be permanent in the tank now then. haven't tried with water yet but they seem very stuck now.

2 made some extra holes in the structure and made the current groves larger so much more water can flow to the pump.

3 send a mail to the LFS with whom I bought the pump and can get a replacement. Not sure though if I want the same brand as I am not very impressed with this TAAM pumps.

4 Took the Barracuda apart but didnt see anything out of the ordinary so will see again tomorrow what it does.

As the life rock still needs to stay with the LFS for another week I think I will fill up one more time with regular water again and try to find some more issues I think. Better find them all now before fresh ocean water is added I think.

Tank is filled in the mean time and all systems seem in order now.
I am still not sure about this Barracuda as to me it seems he is not pushing enough water??

I think the life rock has another 4 or 5 days to go in the LFS before I can go get it.
The order of 660 Gallon (2500 Liter) of fresh ocean water has been made to come at the same day of the life rock.

anybody know product " natural ocean water instant"

anybody know product " natural ocean water instant"

anybody know product " natural ocean water instant" Or something like this, for example evaporated ocean water without NaCl but with all micro and trace elements which are in natural water?
I live far away wrom ocean. Also do not belive that RODI + synthetic reef salt can be good enought to reef tank.
Please help.

Sunday will be the day
Had some work done in the mean time.
I took the Reeflo Barracuda online and am having it checked by some local engineer here in case something is maybe wrong with it. Not sure if there is but I can imagine that using it and then having it just sit around for over a year couldn't have helped so thought it to be better to have it checked out.
This actually made me think for the future and came up with a set up that actualy has both major pumps back each other up in case something goes wrong with one of them. So I plumbed my pipes now so that both pumps would be able to feed anything in the system. So if one pumps falls out I can with the switch of some valves decide that for example the water flow of the DT is more important then the refugium and switch the flow from one tank to the other. It wouldn't be as perfect flow going there but at least some sort of flow would be feeding any tank in my system if a pump was to fall out.
Pictures to follow.
In the mean time I have changed my feed pump to my Seahorse display and refugium to a Jebao DC12000 of which I have read a lot of good reviews so far so lets see what it does for me.
Again pictures to follow.
Have also installed all my probes (Ph, Salinity and temp) in a brand new probe holder from "Si-am Ocean"
again pictures to follow.
So I think I am as ready as I can get to receive my 660 Gallon (2500 Liter) of fresh Sea water and life rock on Sunday morning with loads of pictures to follow then.
I am getting exited.....

as said some pictures about previous post
The barracuda taken offline. Should be ready (hopefully) fixed by Monday

The Jebao DC12000 pump.
so far very impressed with this pump. Absolutly noiseless and pushes tons of water. Currently running both DT and Seahorse display without any problems.
