165Gl to 1000Gl system upgrade (Long project)

cant just sit down and wait around for the hand to heal right
had the remote Jaubert system set for when the first water change will arrive and the refugium will be put online

deep sand bed is 9.5"
2 layers of 4" plus divided with screen

and the plenum is 1.5" high

Just a quick question on waveboxes. Is the space filled with water by the tiny cleft under inner walls of waveboxes? is it this simple? also, what type of tunze streams do you use for this?
Thumbs up, amazing build and tagging along:)

they were intended for wavebox though they might be canceled as they seem to be a bit noisy for the wife.
Used a Tunze 6105 and it worked perfect I though though as said the wife doesnt like the noise it makes.
Some sort of vibration noise on the glass.

changed the height of the DSB in the Jaubert system from 10" to 5" (10cm) as I seem to have been confused with cm and inches on how to set up a Jaubert system

Maybe a ring of soft gum or silicone around the part inserted in the glass would do the trick...if you could fit it in the wholes in a glass of course

yeah I tried that with my previous build to put silicone around the pump outlet but still made noise thats why this time I made the holes a tight fit but still noise. Maybe a rubber ring would work though I think the holes are too tight of a fit right now. Anyway to please the wife I just attached them to the glass for now.

also had the brackets I attach the power heads to re-model to 1" high so pumps still are sufficient submersed and had 5 made in total and attached to the back on the top.
Hopefully they will be still stuck tomorrow morning so I can add the pumps

the brackets were still there this morning and the power heads have been installed. I am serious impressed with those WP25 as I had to turn them down to 75% as they created some serious sand storm in the tank when pointed down to create the rolling motion.
They are much more powerful as the Tunze 6055 hanging right next to them.

a little clip of the wave currently in the tank
this with the pumps out of the waveboxes
Hope you guys like Rihanna as the wife was watching her Rihanna DVD.....

a next project
for all people who use the Oceans motions and want to plumb it underneath their tank for a closed loop never place your oceans motions upside down having the inlet on the top. This device is super sensitive to sand grains getting in the device causing it to fail and run stuck.
I will be turning mine around by next week (due to my hand still) to make sure the inlet is on the bottom so (I hope) sand wont be able to get stuck in the device and hopefully fall out of the device when in a idle mode.

todays testing

Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitraat 5
Phosphate 0.04
Temp 27.2C (80.9F)

2 clips I made today so you have an idea on where the system stands today

and some pictures of the electric nerve center outside for all filtration

and for those who can read a bit of Thai
This so when I am gone for work the wife has a bit of an idea on what is what

did work a bit on the system as well today.
had a little design flaw corrected in the sump. The tank builder for some reason had only 2 baffles installed into the last (return) chamber and this was the reason for quit some micro bubbles in the return line.
So had the system put offline for a few hours to correct that mistake.
2 baffles on this picture

and 3 baffles a few hours later

havent done much on the tank today though only tested today
Water is looking very clear though
Seeing some hair algae showing up here and there
Need to go looking for my clean up crew soon.
Tomorrow morning low tide here in Pattaya

Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 10
Phosphate 0.00
Ph 8.19

What local livestock have you/do you plan to add to your tank?

FIRST LIFE IN THE TANK

low tide this morning at 8.00am
picked up about 50 Nassarius snails and added to the tank to attack some of the algae starting to form a carpet on the sand right now.

some went straight up to the races see who would reach the top first
