16g LED biocube

I have had a number of fresh water tanks over the years with lots of luck and wanted to try my luck on starting a saltwater tank. I have picked up a 16g LED biocube to try my luck with some soft coral maybe a fish or two. Are the LEDs strong enough for some coral? If all goes well with the 16g I will switch my 90g freshwater to a saltwater reef tank.

There are several sources of retro kits and/or DIY for LED lighting in the BioCubes. I had a pair of 29 gallon biocubes and had no trouble keeping corals. One kit was from Steve's LED's and the other from Rapid. In either case they fit in nicely and allowed me to house anything.

Not knowing more about your setup I'd bet you could keep some easy soft corals to get you started and feet wet. Xenia, Kenya Trees, zoas, etc. Fire fish, pair of clowns, something like that. Let you get used to monitoring the tank, testing, water evaporation, etc. Also few books out there, especially the one from Moe which talks about the cycle, timelines, etc.
