175w halides enough?

i got dual 14k 175w halides and 110w vho on my 75 gallon. is that enough light for clams?

i was looking at a deresa at my lfs. are they pretty hardy clams. it would be my first clam.

I have a 75 gal tank with 2 175MH with 440 of atinics. I have kept two maximas for about a year now. Both clams sit on the bottom. I also feed pyhto

The halides are 10 K, just in case you were wondering.

I keep clams on a 10 gallon with 150 watts.They should be perfectly fine.Especially if you pu them at the top.

I also run Duel 175watt Ushio 10K MH's and duel 110 watt VHO actinics on my 90gal. and I keep SPS and LPS with some softies along with my 4 inch Blue Maxima Clam that is very healthy and colorful. He is about 15 inches from my light. Some people will tell you that 250-400 watt MH's are the only way to go but thats there opinion. Listen to the people that have the same lighting as you and are keeping them successfully Or contact Barry from clams direct he will tell you Check out my clam in my gallary

I have 2 x 175 MH and 2 x 110 VHO actinic on a 120 which is 3" higher than your tank.
