180 AGA with sand and Wavebox...

I am looking to add a wavebox to my 180 AGA tank to improve water movement and keep the sand clean. I have about six inches of sugar size sand covering the bottom of my tank, that my sandsifting creatures are not quite able to keep clean. The sand is generally clean where there is high water motion or little light. Do you think that the wavebox will be able to keep the sand clean?
