I don't know about Wal-Mart, as I've never been, but what you want to look for is something that is not intended for bathroom use.

Wait, wait, wait...hold up...you've never been to a Wal-Mart?! How is that even possible? It's an American past-time. Wal-Mart is why the Nazi's lost WWII. Wal-Mart is how Jesus made the blind see. Wal-Mart is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

I don't really like Wal-Mart or accredit them to all of those things. :eek1:

Edit: Ooooh wait, you're Canadian. Now I'm glad you've never been to a Wal-Mart. Canada would become America if Wal-Mart were able to infest it too.

we don't usually expect pics of roller derby chicks to be flattering. we DO expect to see some blood on those pads though!
HAHA!

From those videos you linked me... it must be so much harder to derby on a flat surface.

damn, I missed the vids. That looks tough on the flat. Also looks like there is no real out-of-bounds eh? :D

Out of bounds for us is just a piece of tape on the ground, you know you've gone too far if you are crown surfing.

All this talk of skating makes me wanna get back into roller-hockey...

Years ago I was so hooked on playing hockey and roller-hockey!

I like watching the hits on hockey, other then that I haven't a clue what I'm watching.

Sump glass I cut I hear, just needs to be picked up this afternoon. Maybe Kevin will assemble it while I'm at practice tonight, who knows. I want to try and bring it online in the next 10 days. Although since we will be gone house-sitting, I don't want to toss it online and come home to a soggy floor.

My job this summer is to find a house for us and our planned 1K system. I figure the process will take some time. We are looking for an older home, so we think it could take all summer to find the right location. The plan is to put the 1K system in the basement, and then build the basement around the tank.

basement is the way to go. keep in mind installing a floor drain is a really, really good idea, and some homes will be easier than others for that. Also look for property that you can install a ground cooling loop and run it into the tank room.

I am pretty sure we are going to have to rip up the whole basement to put down new cement, and run the appropriate plumbing. Now is just such a great time because we are seeing the market dropping, due to so many homes on the market. If we can get in now we can probably get most everything we want for a decent price. I would love to run a ground cooling loop! I also want to look into a bunch of green upgrades/improvements. We just need to get our own house again.

I found 8 potentials already, its a matter of going to see them now.

Can I give you some advice?

Take a video camera with you. We found when home shopping that they started to blur together, so we video taped each house that was a "contender" and as they fell off the list, we taped over them. Then when we got home we could discuss the homes and refer to the video without the agent around.

Another interesting side effect was getting to hear the agent's BS on the video. This can be VERY revealing.

Advice is great! I'd love to do that. I'll see if we can't borrow a video camera, or rent one. Usually I just take my camera and take photos, along with a photo of the listing number so we can go back and review.

I think if we can't go with a 15ft long system, then maybe we can go with a modified cube of sorts. My biggest concern for a new house is storage, fish tank space, and open floor plan. I somewhat expect this to be a long hunt.

We need to narrow down some things before we head out to see anything, but hopefully we can get that started soon. We just need out financial paperwork finalized, its done, but we need the official lender letters. We have our realtor, and we think we know where we want to be in the city.

I've been over in the modern tanks thread getting ideas for our next system. I love seeing all the ideas and innovations everyone has come up with.

We missed getting to the shop on time, we were late by about 5-10 minutes, and they were already gone.

However, I took photos tonight instead;

I have read your build from page one to here. It's a very nice tank indeed. I just stumbled upon this web site by accident today. I have found TONS of information here along with cool stories and lots of neat pictures. I'll keep reading more of your build.. Mike
