Hello,
After many successful years keeping my 180 with 1 x 400 watt 20K and 2 x 6' VHO Super Actinic bulbs I replaced the VHO's with 4 x 3' T5's. Shortly after replacing the lights but not related to the lighting change my tank crashed.
I'm now basically starting over. :-(
I was happy with the results my VHO/MH combination, but with a tank rebuild comes the opportunity to replace my lighting for LEDs. I am considering the upgrade/downgrade(?) to LEDs strictly to reduce monthly/yearly costs of running VHO/T5/MHs.
Should I keep the 4 x 3' T5's and supplement with LEDs?
I'm still skeptical about LEDs.
This will be an SPS dominated tank.
Here's what I'm thinking.
2 x 3' T5, 39w Giesemann Actinic+
2 x 3' T5, 39w Giesemann Pure Actinic
2 x Aquabeam 600 Ultra, Reef Blue
4 x Aquabeam 600 Ultra, Marine Blue
Will this be enough lighting? Any other recommendation?
Thanks,
Aaron
