180 gallon SPS reef

Thanks boys!
Richard at 1440watts it is going to be a lot! of light, about 8 watts per gallon :D

Drummereef, cward's? got a link?

Add one more on looker.. Man that sucks about your crash...Progress is looking good. I am getting ready to order a tank and start an in wall my self. I almost ordered an acrylic but think i am going to go with glass. Staphire front and back. I am going to use mine as a room divider and then put a wall around it. This way I'l lhave my office with a fish room and the sother side the formal living room.

How are you doing your top off.

keep the pics coming...

I heard the treated wood dries out over time and shifts a little. I also heard something about chemicals so good thing you changed it. I just got done priming mine. I am also goning throw some white paint on it. Are you put any paint on yours?

I love your light shelf but I don't have the room since the other side is going to be my office.

Cbabcock do you have any pics of your pulley system? I seen a few but still lookin..

drummereef, Thanks for the link. I knew that name sounded familiar. Cward is the reason I went with a deep tank..:D

That is exactly what I heard about pressure treated wood as well. That’s why I pulled it out.
I started painting the stand last night with water sealant and Ill be painting it white within the next couple of days.

Kevin from World Fish came over today! 95% of the plumbing is now done. I should have my new tank wet this week!! For those of you who know Kevin you know he’s a fantastic guy and very often goes out of his way to help out his customers, for those who don’t. Kevin is the owner of World fish. He took the entire day off from his business today just to come over and set up my closed loop for me. He did all of this for FREE!!
I wish there where more people like Kevin out there! Thanks a million bro!!

Now for the pics!

A very rare thing indeed, for someone to do that for you. Kevin must not be able to resist the "need to help" bug  , its damn good fun helping out with something one enjoys.

good on ya Kevin:thumbsup: , hope you did at least give him a beer, a cold one at that

Kevin definitely has the "need to help" bug!

Beer?? Is that what you do when someone helps you?

I finally got this thing FULL!! 14 000GPH is an insane amount Of flow!! WOW I don’t know if it’s because there is no rock in there right now. I hope things change a bit when my live rock goes in because there is know way in hell a fish would be able to tolerate such turbulent water. If I had sand in there it would no longer be in my display tank!

I got the lighting done, all I’m missing is a mogul and reflector that I should have within the next couple days and I’m done. I only went with two VHO’s because of room constraints under the canopy, but at 1220watts I should be OK.

Here are the pics.

Changed my plumbing for the closed loop today and also tossed in my live rock. Ill try and get the rockwork to look better tomorrow. You can see how turbulent the water is in the pic. The rockwork really didn’t put a dent in strong flow like I thought it would.
SPS heaven! Can’t wait!
