hey All
I have an oceanic 180 6x2x2. I recently upgraded to two mp40s from 2 tunze 6100s. I run them on random reefcrest(yellow) at 100%. The flow seems to be not much different from the tunzes in regards to volume. I have an mp10 on my frag tank for about 6 months and the flow seems incredible, i've noticed about5xs the PE I had previously. Do I just need to give it more time? They have been in the 180 about 2 weeks. Do any of you with similar tank dimentions run the same or more vortechs? Do I need another one?
thanks

When Initially setup mine I had one mp40 running full tilt just to circulate the water while I finished the CL. But after a day the bottom of the tank was all "wavy" I guess you would say just like the ocean. I was quite impressed. I would think 2 would rock the tank.

How are they arranged on the tank? like Opposite ends/ opposite corners? Both on the same end?

they are opposite ends a little offset in the middle of the side for the most part. About a 1/4 of the way down the tank. On reefcrest mode on sync

no not really , I have the two island thing going on, both of the vortechs are above the rock piles. I'd say maybe two separate piles around the overflows about 75lbs each if that

When I had my MP40W's in my 180G, I placed one on each side, slightly offset (left front, right rear). I ran them full tilt except for feeding time. The fish loved them. They were the only flow in there, except for the return pump... That was a happy tank...

JME.
