180 relocation project

I actually got one of my pumps going now. Over 6' of vertical head. I am scared to hook up my smaller Iwaki. I think that thing was crapping out on me before I moved. One day I will be able to get a DART. I am planning on putting many tee's onthe return from my sump to other things with the DART. Like a refugium mounted above the tank, surge device, and a breeder tank for my Bangaii's.

LOL! You can get some frags from me when the time comes. It may be awhile. Murph is next then Dan and then Eric D if he ever gets that 225 going.

Me too, I have less than $12 in the bank right now! LOL
:(

That's because the Don keep it all in his deep pockets.:D

Ok, I just got my surge device to half a$$ work. Problem #1 my pump is to small to fill it fast enough to cause the automatic siphon. #2 I put my hand over the outlet that caused it fill up enough to cause the siphon and found out my overflow can not take the surge. Got a gallon or two on the floor. Eric do you think you could give me some tips or help with making my slots bigger or any other idea? TIA, Dan

You could cut out every other tooth on the overflow, I assume that's where the slow down occurs? If it's the drain, that's easy, but I assume it's the overflow itself. Another idea is to cut the teeth lower so that if the water level in the tank rises too high it overflows the overflow and spills faster to compensate...

BTW, I haven't checked the front door, did you get the milk crates?

LOL, yeah I got the milk crates. That is a good idea about cutting every other tooth. I will try that tomorrow. It isn't the overflows. It is the teeth in the overflow wall that slows it down. I have two 1" drains and a 3/4" one. So three total. Plenty of drain power. Thanks for the advice.
