One question though: If you let the frozen food melt in the saltwater, arent you afraid of hidden phosphats that quite often come with frozen food? Ive been told to wash the frozen food very carefully before adding to my tank.

However, the idea is quite interesting

PO4 levels will be combated with a very large PO4 reactor suited for the aquarium. As long as the aquarium is up to date on water changes and filter media(rowaphos) is changed often enough this shouldn't be an issue. Also the filtration equipment is rated for a tank three times the size of this one. We didn't cut any corners when it comes to the filtration. My Reef Creations industrial line is top notch.

Is the soil there that bad? I have worked in the reinforced concrete area for years and its very rare to see that much rebar in a slab like that. WOW

The last long drought caused alot of damage in our area last year. This is a one story 11,000 square ft house that spans a long distance and has a strange footprint. Think of a large horse shoe shape. I would suspect that it is over engeneered a tad, but I don't blame them for getting it right the first time.

I had a little chuckle to myself when you filmed the top down shot of the flow of the rocks...its neat to see you walking on the rim of the tank. Alot of us would love to show up to work to build an aquarium, its usually one of the highlights of the reefing experience.

wow 11k sqft leaves the "home" category and goes more into the mansion category

But yeah you get a house that big, you probably have money to make sure everything is done to tip-top shape.

Thanks for the compliments guys! Sorry for the outburst of posts but I have been super busy working on the aquarium.

I have plumbed in a feeding tube for the aquarium..

The owner wanted to have ease of feeding frozen food so I added this to the return line.

A lot of people have asked about feeding tubes so here is one example.

The vertical pipe in the middle is clear PVC with a Banjo fitting for adding the frozen food while the valves are closed on both ends of the feeding tube. The video below shows how easy it is to use the tube when feeding.

I bought all of the parts to build the feeding tube from Ryan Herco Flow Solutions. All you need is three true union ball valves and a banjo fitting to go along with your normal 90s and pipe.

If you want to feed the tank with frozen food or pellets, you can close the valves on each side of the T fitting and open the banjo fitting to drop in your food. Once the desired amount of food has been added you simply re-seal the banjo fitting and let the food thaw for a couple of minutes in the pipe.

I have a dream house that has a tank that is 2000g in it, and this man did it, can't wait to start a real job and start saving for a tank like this.
