dog face puffer (missing a fin on his left side)
lion fish fuzzy (RIP)
lion fish volitol (RIP)
fox face rabbit fish
tomatoe clown x 2
coral catfish
lunar wrasse

This is whats in there. Ive had a couple tangs die and I thought maybe it was stressed related but maybe not now. Fuzzy lion was killed first and the guy at petco said when I bought him he was a 50/50. The other lion fish was doing great for about a month+ now and went MIA yesterday. I found him today half eaten! Now ive noticed my puffer is missing a fin. ***!! Think its the eel? Hes the only one that doesnt come out and "hang" out with the other fishies.

Depends on the size of the SFE, but I doubt it. How large is the lunar wrasse? I hear they can turn mental when large. Have you noticed any fish acting abnormally aggressive?

I'd suspect the Thalassoma as well...bad juju when they get some size on them. I had one kill a fuzzy back when I was a SW noob.

Lions don't mix well with nippy fish, puffers, wrasses, triggers, and angels to name a few. Is the fin actually missing, or is it maybe just tucked into his gill? They do this sometimes.:hmm4:

The eel is still a potential culprit though. Years ago living in the dorms, in my second marine tank ever, I had a large volitan and three "freshwater" morays. Everything was great for months, I even got the morays trained on floating Hikari Gold pellets. One day in the spring, my roommate came running down the hall yelling the eels were attacking the lionfish. All of us ran down to see what was happening, but by the time we got there, the lion was dead. The eels were tearing the lion apart. It was actually quite interesting to watch. They would swim over to the lion, loop their bodies, stick their head through the loop and bite on to the lion. At that point they would thrash vigorously, using their body for bracing and tear a chunk of flesh off. It gave me a new respect for morays, even ones only as thick as a Sir-Marks-Alot marker. I don't recommend morays for any tank with slow moving fish, regardless of size.

are you sure the puffer is missing a fin? sometimes if they have gill parasites or are stressed, they will actually tuck a pectoral fin into the gill. it's pretty freaky looking and appears they are missing a fin.

what was the size of the snowflake relative to the lions?
have you seen the wrasse harassing fish?

The puffer "tucked" his fin because it was back again today. I have not seen the wrasse mess with any of the other fish. The eel is about as long as a pencil and big around as a normal persons pinky. The lion fish both came from Petco and may have just croked on me and eaten afterwards?

Just Got rid of my Lunare Wrasse because it was attacking my Tangs and Dogface Puffer. Beautiful Fish but it went mental on me!

About a year and a half ago I had to do the same thing. It didnt kill anything, but he was harrassing the crap out of everyone. It might the snowflake but they usually dont mess with fish.
