Sufunk try www.bhphotovideo.com for the macro lens

Those dont look too bad. I dont know squat about cameras but right now i have the 18-55mm lens. They have a 55-200mm lens for $170.

I assume 200mm is a pretty big difference over the 55mm?

One thing that i forgot to say about the tank that i wanted to.

Other than the lyretail anthias, EVERY single thing in the tank was bought at a Broward county lfs or from a FMAS member. Not one single coral bought online or from any vendors. Definitely lucky to be a reefer in Broward!

Don't worry, it is confusing.
IMO, don't lay down the bucks until you understand it and understand what you need and what you're buying.

Oh, and I totally agree. Everything in my tanks is either from local LFS or fellow members. The only livestock I've gotten online is GARF grunge and cleanup critters. Broward Rules!

Lol, good idea!

Even $300 though is a big chunk of change for just taking closeup pics of my corals! At least, thats what im sure the wife will say;)

She doesn't really need to know the full cost... JK. You can always tell her about the great deal that you got on the lens from it originally costing $1200. Women always appreciate a bargain

I also forgot to tell you to use the simoen nod while you tell her the bargains. Mrpet, and everyone else who's wife or significant others who do not really know the true cost of our addiction, we must be doing it right!

The 55-200mm is a zoom - telephoto and will in-fact magnify things that are at a distance, however; it will not work like a macro lens to give you high detail closeup pictures. The lens you mentioned would be a great over all outdoor lens but would probably not perform well taking your tank shots. You would be well served by contacting Jeff Brigg, who eats this stuff up and is an accomplished photographer. He and I both shoot Canon, so you would not be able to try his macro lens on your camera. I'm sure someone on our forum shoots Nikon and has a macro. Maybe that someone will let you look through their lens prior to dropping the big bucks. Good luck!
