180g Setup Question

I have a serious problem with collecting fish tanks. I am in the proccess of setting up a bigger tank to move up from my 125 and have the following question. What would you setup? A 6x2x2 180g or a 4x3x2 (LxWxH) tank? Thanks for the input.

Patrick my tank right now is 30" wide but that's only cause I could not fit the stand if I would have gone 36" wide. or else I would have a 36" wide tank.

6x3x2 would be even better. I really like the 30"-36" deep tanks, but 4' long just isn't enough for me.
You do need to pay attention to your ability to get it into the house, as others have mentioned.

Kevin - Yup, 4 ft long, 3 feet in depth, 2 feet high

Pete - 8x3x3 is a great tank, but not an option at this time.

jtarmitage - a 6x3x2 would be perfect. I likewise have a slight issue with a 4 ft tank, but the depth is great.

As for fitting in my house, the 2 ft in height allows it to fit through doors when tilted.

Didn't even think about fitting it through that way.
Well, if it's an either or, it would really depend on where it was going to go, and how well it would fit in that area. Of those 2, I would go with the 4 footer with the added depth.

Did you pick up that 4x3 tank on Craigslist? I saw one like that and wanted it so bad. Let me know if you go a different route, and want to get rid of it. I'd definitely do that tank over the first.

Then I think you should go with the 6X2X2 and give me the 4X3X2...it's the only right thing to do....

Twisted - I really should give some tanks away, i have too many sitting in my garage. The pack rat part of me won't let anything go.

nova- Not yet, its just sitting in my garage now.

thats cool i was just wondering.it sounds like the tank i was trying to pick up awile back that was in mantecca.when you get some pics post them please.

thanks

Delusions let me know what tanks you have to part with and how much, I am in the need to move out of my 55 due to no room, so I need something bigger.
My problem is internal overflows are a must. And I prefer glass...yeah..I'm picky...wonder why I am still stuck in my little 55?

If you can set it up to view three sides of the 4X3X2 which you should if you have space for the 6X2X2 then I would go with the 4X3X2... I can just see a peninsula shaped rock formation with a nice oolite sand bed, would give you a lot of space all the way around, especially if you rock was only 12 to 14 inches tall with a few higher spots for really light intense corals.....
