180G UK reef

Tiggsy... I am at the stage where I am ready to use the resin and sand. Could you help me figure what to use. I have read and reread your thread and I cannot find a brand name.

I found this stuff at a model store called EnviroTex Lite pour on high gloss finish. It is a two part clear epoxy used as a thick varnich coat for various craft projects. I called the company and one of their techs said that they don't recommend it for aquarium use. She didn't say that they have derogatory info on it... just that they can't guarantee it.

I think he was talking about the stuff used for fiber glass work like on cars and such. I hope Im write cause thats what Ive been looking at.

Thanks Tiggsy. I found it on line but, they couldn't get it to me fast enough. So, I started calling around and found a similar product. We (the store owner and myself) called the manufacturer and they said as long as it was cured properly... (which is for 6 hours at 75 degrees) it would be fine.

I used a product called "20 MIN. FINISH-CURE Epoxy" by Bob Smith Industries in Atascadero, CA. It comes in two bottles about 7 oz each. It is easy to use and doesn't smell much. I bought it at a model train store. I only used it because by the time I found out what Tiggsy used... I needed it sooner than I could get it from Zap.

Thanks again Tiggsy... My reef turned out great... I really appreciate the fact that you shared your great idea. I said it a few pages ago and I'll say it again... You have changed aquascaping forever.

Amazing tank mate

Tiggsy first off, amazing tank! You have changed aquascaping for ever.
I love the small fish makes the tank look huge. I love the Anthias and the Chromis. I dont hear good things about chromis. They are cheap enough but i hate killing reef fish regardless of price. How long have you had them and how are they doing.

This is so amazing! I'm picking up my salt tank this weekend and had been researching tons of stuff. This is exactly what I was looking for! I'm pretty sure that I can design it to hide any equipment as well. Thanks so much for sharing the work you've done... invaluable info!

And is that lion in the main tank?

lion is a fuzzy dwarf - well fed on frozen and so has (so far) ignored all the chromis (and some are TINY), 2 sexy shrimp and a boxer crab - all mouth size if he was hungry i suppose!
