Well reefers and reefettes, its time to meet up again. Seems like its been awhile to me.

We have another great topic. If you have never had pests in your tank....... you're doing something wrong. Come and hear what can get into your tank, what it can do to your tank and what you can do about it--- if you have the nerve.

Please excuse the pause, I had to check photobucket. I have over 25 frags to put up for adoption this month.

Pics start Monday.....

Gift certificate to the first person meeting 2 criterion:

Pertaining to the donor program:

1) what is the 5 rule?

2) what are other rules for receiving frags I harp about (3 of 4)?

document when you recieved the coral and from who, Document the growth and report it, grow your coral out and return a frag when coral is ready and in good health and continue to donate to the program

Don't have an answer to the 5 rule but here is a cheat sheet for the rest.

:)

you must be a 2011 COMAS member;
you must have the appropriate tank equipment to keep the frag alive;
you must be willing to grow the frag until it propogates naturally or you can frag it, then bring a frag back to the program

a person starts out with 5 points. if they take 5 frags they have zero points. each frag is a point.
if you recieve a frag you should post pictures and let everyone know the progression of the frag.
when the frag gets double in size and is healthy to frag you then frag it and take half back to the donnor program.
Also if you are going to participate in the frag program you must have the time and suitable equiptment the frag needs.

I am going to go with:

1. The Sponsors will then record when they received a frag and from whom, grow out their frags, report on their condition in their system, and frag their coral when it has double its original size.

and

2. A)Report when you loose a frag so that records can be update. We all have lost one and its bound to happen, but the program needs to know when its not going to have a certain frag back from an individual so it can keep records up to date; B) dip, dip, dip, okay and maybe a little swish (recurrent with this upcoming meetings theme a little I might add, hehe); and C) making sure all the conditions in your tank are conducive to the corals you are asking for.

Way to go falcon !!!!

Most of the elements for #2 are in other posts.

1, member starts out with 5 points, each frag they take out = 1 point once they have taken 5 frags they have 0 points till they return frags

2, be a current COMAS member, Have the appropriate equipment to care for the coral, be willing to frag the coral once it has doubled in size and return to the club, DIP DIP DIP, give updates as to how the frag is doing or if you lost it.

rule 5

a person starts out with 5 points. if they take 5 frags they have zero points. each frag is a point.

The rest

--a person starts out with 5 points. if they take 5 frags they have zero points. each frag is a point.
-- be a paid COMAS member ;
--have the tank/lighting and equipment to sustain the coral you are requesting;
--return the coral if you break the tank down;
-- Grow the Coral until it is able to be fragged or splits on it's own, and return a frag to the program;
-- If you break down the tank or leave COMAS, any corals you have not returned frags, come back to the program.
--If you lose a corsl, let you know.

-- Comment and ask questions about any of the corals on the forum. Also post any pics of corals you have growing from the frag program from the last 2 or 3 years.

--When you decide on corals you want, PM you with a list and your name and RC name.
-Also always try to bring extra corals to donate to the donnor program to keep this going
-- be willing to return a frag of every coral you receive once it has grown enough to frag

Did I get it??????? :)

Rules for checking out corals

Rules for checking out corals

Pertaining to the donor program:

1) what is the rule or 5?

In order to help have frags available for everyone,
we request you not have out more than 5 frags at any one time. If you have out 5 and return 3 (of the frags you checked out, not other donations) you may check out 3 more.

2) what are other rules for receiving frags I harp about (3 of 4)?

1)you must be a current year paid COMAS member;
2)you must have a stable tank with;
the appropriate equipment/lighting to keep the frag alive;
3)you must be willing to grow the frag until it propogates naturally
or you can frag it, then bring a frag back to the program;
4)be willing to return the corals you haven't fragged if you break down your tank;
5)inform the fragmaster if you loose a coral (hey, it happens);

my new one:

you are encouraged to join the few that help keep this program going by donating to the program as you trim frags from your tank(s).

so fans, let me know, is there a winner :dance:

I think we all win with the frag program!

Thanks Chris, for the plug

(Chris is, by the way, one of those I spoke of who supports the program)

Edited post #11. I believe it's final

Come on, few comments/votes on either of these guys winning.
