any tips or tricks...my phyto will be cultured tomorrow I have some fertilizer for my phyto...I was going to use 2 2 liter pop bottles for the culture

a few other questions....how and when should I remove some of the rotifers from the tank? I was told to use coffee filters for removal of the rotifers? but looks like they would stick to it?

hope you have more phyto. You will find your rotifers will take every drop of phyto you can throw at them. Coffee filters work ok, but a rotifer strainer would be better. Clean the rotifer tank daily for best results. 25% water change is more than enough.

If you are serious about trying to raise clowns you should REALLY buy a book on the subject. It will help you a lot! I think Joyce Wilkersons Clownfish is pretty good to start with.
Now go to Amazon! :-)

Ok I woke this morning and the water was still green...If you see In the pic it does have a light over the 3 gallon tank....so I just do 25%wc like I do on my reef tank?

Thanks I'll look into that! but for mnow I need to get these cultures going! also to help feed my Reef

Be careful putting the heater in the rotifer tank. Rotifers can live in temps down to the 60s so heat isnt really needed. From what i hear, the added heat speeds up metabolism and waste production. That then leads to a crash if you dont stay on top of it. So be sure not to let it get out of hand.

you need to at least split the culture into two so you wont be skrewed if one crashes... trust me. the best thing to do is remove a cup of the roti water and replace it with a cup of matching salinity water every other day.
