hello,

i finally found a healthy gig locally after several months of searching. someone else had it and needed room in their tank. score! lol

it's tan / multi-colored, but i still like it. i am kind of amazed that the tentacles vibrate even without any flow in the tank. the color variations in it are also beautiful, imo. it's 10-12" fully expanded.

sorry for the crappy pic. it was just put in the tank, and just the blue lights are on. i'll get a better pic later.

question.... how do you all move and handle gigs? this thing is so sticky that it's tentacles were sticking to the plastic tub and the rubber gloves that i wore. i'm hoping to find more locally, and would like to know the best wat to transport / move them with the least amount of stress.

ah, there she is. looks great jonathan!

moving that anemone is a chore, so i know what you mean about it being so sticky. ive used nets and wooden spoons to move it, but it will stick to anything and everything regardless.

thanks ron! there is no doubt that you took great care of it while you had it. i will do my best to do the same.

another quick pic of the little shaggy carpet nem. the clowns photo bombed again. they have been rolling on the gig since i added it :)

Then I move my Gigantea, I try to some the rock or anything that it stick to. Other than that I scoop it with a clean glass. They do not stick to clean glass.

BTW, very nice Gigantea. IMO, any color healthy Gigantea is beautiful

Usually nems won't stick to a plastic bag. When I move haddonis, I just put a plastic bag over my hand and they usually don't respond at all to it.

thanks... well, i will try a piece of glass or a plastic bag next time.

i'm hoping to find another one or two locally. my wife even said she liked the gig better than my other nems, so i doubt she will give me any grief. lol they are beautiful creatures...

thanks everyone! i'm really diggin this gig! here is an updated pic. it is about fully expanded, and just awesome, imo :)

some update gigantea pics. imo, it looks great!

i lowered the intensity of the led's a couple weeks ago. the way the colors are coming out in it, i think it likes it. either that or it's all the fish it has eaten. lol

not the best pics, but they give an accurate idea of the different colors and how healthy it is.
