I have been looking for an xotic fish for a long time now and today i accidently clicked the seahorses and pipe fish forum instead of "the lounge"(dont ask me how).I have decided that sea horses are for me. (I think i sound like an idiot)

I think I will have a twenty gallon tall with two Mustangs. I cant find the latin name(please help!).I will have a sponge filter.

I have read seahorses.org, and gone to seahorses.com. Where is the best place I can buy a Mustang, and what is a good price.I already know saltwater basics and stuff. Ive had a reef for 8-9 months.Just tell me all the stuff i need to know about seahorse keeping.

thanx

From a reef tank backround, water chemistry is the same. Flow needs to be cut drastically and broken up. Rule of thumb flow is 3 to 5x the tank volume per hour. You can go more with multiple returns.

Beware of false CB seahorses. Many are net pen raised and can present various problems. The best erectus around IMHO is seahorsesource.com They are real CB for sure. Great reputation.

They will be the source of my erectus when the time comes.

YOu will need something better than a sponge filter. HOB filters are O.K. but personally I like cannisters. Just a preference thing really. I ran a whisper 20-40 on a 44g tank and it was fine with the LR for filtration as well.

I would suggest going with a larger tank than a 20, its the absolute minimum size.

Bigger tank = more room for the horses + more stable water conditions (so more healty horses).
