Sorry I haven't replied yet, I've been busy (I graduated this week).

Taikimoto, that's an awesome tank, and hopefully one day mine will be close to that nice.
I'm going to be getting all the equipment I don't already have this week and I'll keep you updated on the tank setup. But, I want to know whether or not the 24 watt pc will be enough before I buy it.

I would suggest if you are going with a 5.5 G and 24 watts of PC to go with alot of your soft corals. Zoanthids, mushrooms, polyps will all be nice and spread to cover most of the rocks. You might want to also look into some of the LPS such as some of the candy-canes, trumpets, or maybe an open brain. If you go will some of the soft corals they will outgrow the tank very quickly if they are happy such as leathers, and colt corals, kenya trees and such. I will try and get a pic of my old 2.5 covered in mushrooms and some others up in the next bit, with just 18w of PC light and a HOB filter.

first i hope this works since my first time posting pics in a while. second sorry about the quality i had to take pictures of pictures to get them on my computer cause i dont have them on it from 5 years ago.

I've got the tank itself running now w/ a 24 watt pc, and an emperor 400 w/ reduced flow. I'll be picking up the lr and ls today.
I'm thinking of filling the emperor w/ live sand, will this help with the nitrate reduction and filtration in the tank?

I'll get some pics posted soon.

nanoreefboy - I like that tank! I seriously love the overgrown look! In that second pic it looks like the zoos are struggling for room, is that the case?

carl

nothing really struggled for room but some things did have the advantage of rising up on the stalks like the shrooms. i enjoyed that tank alot and most people thought it was way bigger than 2.5 g after i showed them pics, but it wasnt. i just wish it would not have crashed because the heater. but the one i have now is on its way to what that one was, except only ricordea mushrooms.
