2 6205 placement

bullitr

broke but happy
i currently have the 2 6205 on opposite side of my 96x 24x 30 tank and its great
but i am upgrading to 96x36x 27 starphire . the question is can i put the 2 6205 on the opposite side of the the overflow but on the same side of the return?
will that work? just like jar*head or should i do like Stephen Hurlock's placement?

i will get the magnet later my current tank cannot accommodate the 1/2"-1" space needed on the other side of the tank.

That will work, but do you have any flow on the other side, my concern is that the tank won't have much flow past the 72" mark and very little after 84".

I don't think it is necessary, it will mostly depend on the strength of your return flow and if anything I would place a pump on the side with the overflow.

From my experience the biggest lack of flow will be directly under the Tunze Streams. You will need another on the overflow side to counter this.

I can confirm this.... I have four tunze 6101's in place of where your two 6205's would be and right under the pumps is the only spot where things tend to settle. My return is actually on the same side of the Tunze, and my two external waveboxes are on either side of my overflow on the opposite end.

That is a good point I had neglected, I usually think of the sides being just the foot of the rock work with few if any corals.

i don't mind a spot where this is a low flow. i have mixed sps with mushrooms, soft corals, zoanthids,LPS
thank you for all the response
