Hi All,

I have a very small bubble tip right now. I have had it for a while but my Tomato clown has since outgrown him. At least I think so. I was wondering if it is possible to put two bubble tips in a tank. I have a 46G bowfront reef tank if it helps any. Thanks in advance.

its ok to add another bubble tip.
but your post makes me wonder.. if the fish actually outgrew the bubbletip...
are you feeding the anemone ever? they grow faster than a fish in the right enviorment..

Fun you should ask. I have tried to feed it Mysis shrimp and silversides with no luck. The tomato takes care of it. It will not take anything yet I have had it for 9 months. I cant figure it out.

then I would have to guess that it's starving.

clowns dont really take care of anemones as much as you'd like them to. you really need to focus on getting it to eat. not getting another one.

what color is your anemone? is it tan, rose,or green?

or is it more of a translucent white or see thru?

tenicles long or short?

does food stick to it when you try to feed it?

tan, short tentacles and every time I try to feed it the tomato steals the food and takes it away. It wont let the anemone have any.

Feed it frozen Krill. I have 9 BTA's and none of them will refuse Krill, Clam, or Diced Scallops. Try feeding at least once a week and then ramp up to every 3 days if possible. It'll grow pretty fast then.

But yeah, you can have more than 1 in your tank.

Also, something else that comes to mind, my BTA all refuse frozen Mysid and Silversides, but wont refuse live feeder goldfish. But in the past I have had BTA's that would eat both Mysid and Silversides, so just experiment with a few of each till you get what it likes. Start with the Krill though. That'll be big enough that your clown wont be able to steal it easily. Also, don't be afraid of getting the food directly in its orafice and keep your hand int here to shoo the clown away while it gobs it down. The tenticles don't hurt us that bad if you get stung. Its like a small 'shock'. :)

Several things you can do
1. Feed the fish first
2. Put a basket over the anemone until it finish eatting then remove.

Definatly feed the tomato first. I had that problem in the past, id kep the fish away with a net until the nem was done eating. No clown I know likes the presence of a net lol

Short tenicles are a sign of starving. but if its tan thats good. must have decent lighting.
