2 candles iso 1000 3 apertures

Lighting from two candles only. ISO 1000. Tripod. Tethered. No noise reduction. I didn't want to create noise through over sharpening either. I continued to be impressed by the lack of noise compared to my crop sensor 50D.

I think the last is my preference. I love the visual cream of the full frame sensor.

Probably a bad time to ask, but did you take a shot of where the two candles were positioned? At least tell me how they were. I experimented a lot when I started using off camera flashes. Moving light away from the camera can create some interesting effects. I also like the last one best.

No shot of positioning. I thought about it later after I had dismantled the shot.

Both candles were a bit out of frame, maybe a foot left and right of the camera, slightly forward of the lens plane. The left candle was shorter and the right taller.

Cool project. Its obvious how the detail picks up as you close down the aperture. More comes into focus, but the longer shutter speed and greater depth really make it POP!
