2 day phases - is it a problem?

I've recently started two daytime phases with my lights. I have 2 5' vho's that come on at 8:30 and off at 12:30...then on again at 5, followed by 3 250w halides from 6-10, and finally the vho's off at midnight. during the off phase, i have a 4w 2bulb LED moonlight in the middle of the tank. Fish seem to be fine with it, is it a problem with corals?

What is the benefit of doing that?

well, i work from home half the time, so it gives me extra time to see my tank with lights on....but not so that they're on for too long of a time..thats really about it. i just wanted to know if it was a problem
