i have a 90 gallon SPS dominated reef and i want to add 2 dwarf angels. Here are my questions:

1. Are the dwarf angel likely to nip my SPS corals

2. Which angels with get along best

3. What precautions should I take when adding them

im thinking of getting a Flame Angel and a Coral Beauty Angel

1.) It's hit and miss and can also depend on the species. Keep in mind no Centropyge is totally reef safe.

2.) Try to get two that are different in size and different coloration.

3.) Add them both at the same time and be prepared for them to pick at corals.

Flame and a Coral beauty might or might not work, but you're asking for a possible war.

I would only recommend one dwarf angel. the pygmy angel can get quite territorial. I have one in my tank as you can see by my avatar. occasionally nips at coral but nothing to complain about.

I think with SPS you should be fairly safe with the nipping. If you have your heart set on two angels, as stated add them both at the same time. I kept a coral beauty and a bi-color in a 55 for almost a year til we broke the tank down. I think you should be ok.

I have a flame, a CB and a white tailed pygmy (C. flavicauda) in my 65g. So far there have been no fights and no one's a nipper... except for the open brain they picked on until I had to move it to the 21g. They have a definite pecking order and occasionally posture, but it never gets serious. I think having lots of nooks and crannies in the rockwork helps, it allows them to get away from one another if they need a little space :)

Adding them at the same time is vital as already mentioned - a decent difference in sizes between them will reduce squabbling IME.
