Thank you, Its been up for about 11-12 months.

It is a aqueon evolve 2 with a Fluval Sea Nano Marine & Reef LED.

It has a 3M style that mounts to the back of the tank which came un glued after a couple weeks… I used a 2" wide piece of sheet metal that attaches to the top of the light, bends down the back and under the tank.

That's a nice tank! I love the simplicity. What kind of maintenance is involved? Is everything pretty much stock except the light?

Thank you, as far as maintenance, I top off with RO/DI every couple days and do small water changes periodically, absolutely the easiest tank I have. :spin1:

Yes everything is basically stock except the light.

Love the montiporas. It looks cool how they grow into each other, I bet it looks better in person!

Its always hard to take pictures of tanks with a cell phone :)

Only issue i have is algae and the tank is so small I put a turbo snail in for a day to clean and put it back in my big tank, it looks funny if I leave the "giant" snail in this tank. haha

You could try a zebra hermit. Those stay small and pick at algae. Very active hermits and are really fun to watch!

Hi, I just purchased an Aqueon Evolve 2G tank and I purchased live rock and sand. When you say you do small water changes periodically, how often and how much water are you talking about?

I live in "the country" so our water is basically municipal well water, very hard. I plan on purchasing saltwater from a local reef store. How much water are ou changing? a cup? 2 cups? 50%? Also, how often, every 2 days? Thanks in advance

Depends on when you would ask me, your tank may be different, just test the water until you figure out what works for it…

But I changed roughly ~4 cups(~32 ounces) a month on average(this is my lazy tank) :) , all perimeters stayed pretty steady.

Topping off the tank depends on how much evaporates. could top off once a day or once a week depending on the temp in the room, I checked every night while doing stuff for my other tanks.

What a great pico reef! Congrats.

Just one question: when are you going to add a Queen Angel, 2 Clown Fish, three Yellow Tangs and small sand shark?
