1= might be vermetid snails.. But may be a polyp or 2 from a pipe organ coral.. (kind of hard to tell but I'm leaning toward vermetid snail/tube worm of sorts)
2=aiptasia for sure..

The second one looks like Aiptasia. I'm not really sure about the first one though. The shell does resemble that of a Vermetid snail, but that polyp extending on the left makes me think otherwise. Maybe a small part of a Pipe Organ coral?

thanks so much! I was on a site yesterday that sells something that eats the aptasia, I'll have to read up on that stuff a little more. And I'll look at the other things as well.

To me it looked like a coral branch, it has a longer stem. Maybe about 1" total length with those branches. Looks a little like a fork shape the way it is.

If you can remove the rock that the Aiptasia is on with ease you could just burn it off with a cigarette lighter. This only takes a few seconds to do. The rock will become a little scorched, but this usually rubs right off with your finger and a little water.

peppermint shrimp will usually take care of aiptasia if they don't have any other decent food source.. I'd start there.. Or just go kalk paste/diy joes juice,etc.. it to death..

a matted filefish will for too but IMO the diet of those is too specific and they tend to not do so well once they are gone.. (but some have luck)

Personally I really never worry about aiptasia.. They are usually only around and cause problems if your nutrient levels are out of whack.. And I've never had one cause "problems" with neighboring corals,etc..

I had a slight outbreak right after my tank was cycled. I bought a matted filefish (aptasia eating filefish) from my lfs and he took care of the problem almost instantly. Great addition to the tank too, shy but very peaceful and hardy.
