2 Mp10 or 1 mp40 vortech for lps tank

Welp I currently have 2 k4's running in my tank and flow seems good but the only problem is that I dont know if the koralias put out the correct flow for a lps dominant tank. I'm thinking of getting either 2 mp10 or a mp40 vortech for the gentle random flow I think I can get for my lps in my 75g tank. Anyone doing thing or have any thoughts.

Im using a mp40 in a mixed sps lps on a 75 and that replaced 3 korallias and love it. I love it. 2 mp10 s synced wirelessly would make an awesome potential for huge potential but one mp 40

Seriously skyshrimp. My mp40 has to be putting our 3500+ gph despite its claims of 3200. I love the modes of the wavemaker. I bit the bullet originally due to massively long power outtages and constant in and outs of power. I needed confirmation that if I was at work when one hits, I would have something till I or my girl got home to fire up generator. First night took home Mp40 and backup it was tested 12 hours later. flawless. Thats why I upgraded from 2 korallia 1050 on timer and hydor 4 pointed at back to stir up detritus 4 a day. Its awesome. Rocks clean corals happy ect. Again if you get 2 mp10's you may have more customization with waves synced together.. but 1 will do the job!

How does everything look with the powerheads you have now? IMO, LPS corals like slow to moderate flow. Those mp's are great and all, but the same results can be achieved for half the price. Save your money and just add another Koralia 4, or 3, or 2, or nothing. If it's not broke don't fix it.

this just answered the question i was having because i wasnt sure if i should get 2 mp10's or a mp40!

The flow in my tank is pretty good right now its just I want a more gengle flow for my lps. Plus I want a pump that will reach most areas to keep my rock clean and lps happy. With the koralias they are more aim in the direction you want flow.

I am someone who went from 3 korallias, and went to mp40 and its worth every penny. nutrient transport mode does that. I was able to go 2 days without changing socks on the reef, unless I heavily fed that day obviously, and now its daily mandatory. The amount of detritus it pulls off the rocks, the sand, the wherever it finds it at a low setting is remarkable. its on the right side of tank and the overflow is on left top corner and it effectively cleans my aquarium. I was using 2 1050s on a switching wave maker and a hydor 4 original and this thing on low keeps my corals extending more, and rocks clean! I know it cost money, but u cant beat its options out the box and battery backup was MY major selling point, otherwise I would still be ignorant to how awesome these are in my korallia bliss.

I think I may go ahead and order the mp40 for my tank then and if I dont like it u can always sell it and try 2 mp10's. Seems like its with the trouble to me.

To tell you the honest truth I think you should go with 2 mp10es wireless. Sync them up and I bet you'll get a lot more random flow with them than with just one mp40.

Welp just to let everyone know I went ahead with the 2 mp10's waiting on them to come in a few days. U figured 2 is better than one.

Sorry not to chime in sooner, I have 2 mp10s linked on my 120 and love it. I can get a 1/2" to 3/4 inch wave in the tank in nutrient transport mode. Usually just run it on reef crest or lagoon mode, great flow. I use to run a couple korallias and a tunzee. I still run the tunzee, but behind the rockwork just to keep it clear in behind. In the future, I am going to add 1 more mp10 to the rear or the tank just because I run the two mp's at 100 percent on the 120, I think 1 more could make the flow even more random and could always turn them down if too much. As far as the cost, I justify it because I run a skimmerless system with an algae scrubber, and I have seen many people spend four to five hundred on a skimmer. Just a trade off. Instead of spending big bucks on taking coral food out of the system, I spent it keeping it moving around feeding my coral. Just my opinion and approach.

Hi. I wonder how is the 2 mp10 set up doing in ur tank? I'm thinkin about the same, but would like some info for the record! Thanks

Hey folks sorry I almost forgot all about this thread I started. To answer your question I love the new pumps, they actually are bringing my acros back to life. Polyps are out and lps are happy and healthy. The nutrient tranport mode is awsome I let it run om there for about a day and couldnt belive all the debris in my rocks. All in all I dont regret the purchase at all. Excellent product.

Good to hear...I am looking to pull the trigger with a set for my 90 as some of my SPS colonies are thining out at the base which is most likely lack of proper flow (and possibly lighting).
