Well after taking time off from my last Carpet(Gig), I went with some Haddonis x2.... These posts help me keep time on what I do with my nems.....Helped with my Gig(BAD END), so I'm hoping my sand critters will do better =). Follow if you like, I just like RC so I can follow, and get new info at the same time =).

1st Haddoni was purchased around 2 months ago. Bleached, and in a rock fall about 3 weeks ago. I really felt bad as it was making strides. Well it is settled again and I recently started feeding fresh shrimp(everyday).

I own BTA's. Traded 1 and coral for a 2nd Haddoni. Bit bleached, but if I am gonna put some effort forward........why not 2. SO... here we go....

Feb 11th 2012. 2 Haddoni, both being cared for. 1 should be brown, or brown with white stripes.... Other should be green with white stripes.....WHY SO WHITE......Should be getting some color back!!!!! Keep feeding ,SHRIMP....

Day 1 with both, Day 50ish with green....Here we go with my log...

Wish me well...

Well day 3... Brown Haddoni is doing as expected. Not great, not bad. Gotta look into a basket to keep the Occy's away.Frag racks only work so long. Mouth almost tight. Debating on feeding tonight, but I think I will give it 1 more day...

Green stripe is just as usual..... Taking food aggressively, but still a ton of white. Reminder, the white is NOT clear. Full blown white.

Happy Valentines day........

If you are planning on adding any more S. haddonis, I will very strongly suggest that you set up a QT for the new additions, and don't add them to the DT for at least a month. Newly shipped ones can/will have some sort of "infection" that can/will take out otherwise healthy S. haddonis -- trust me, I learned this the hard way, lost a red one and a tan one that I had had for 12+ years to this.

Todd, I am sure I have read this somewhere but is there any way to "treat" this potential issue with new nems while in QT?

Bad update for today..... Was gonna feed yesterday(Thursday), but decided not too, as my Copperband decided he would do the honors......

White/green stripe is fed so to speak.

New guy is looking descent. Gotta consider feeding soon. Too bad the copperband wasn't twins(I know, bad joke).

Bout a mile too late for QT folks. This one is happenin real time.....

2 weeks with the new guy. He hasen't deflated in a week. I believe he deflated on the 18th. I've tried feeding him 3x so far. 1st time was on the 20th. Not super sticky, and quite slow to respond. He eventually ate a small piece of shrimp.

2nd time was on the 22nd. Definitely had more stickiness to him, but not moving to his mouth quickly. My wrasse stole the piece, took him about 10-15 seconds of tugging. I refed it too him after the clowns and wrasse got their fill. He ate it.

3rd feeding was on 24th. Now he's looking sticky. My female clown tried getting the chunk with no avail..... Took him about 1-2 minutes to get it to his mouth. His mouth is tight and puckered just like the other nem.

The older nem is doing well, I've only fed 2x's since he ate the butterfly. He spit the carcass out the next day, so hes obviously digesting well . Appearing to get a bit more florescence going toward his mouth.

I'm gonna change flow next week as I have 5 new powerheads coming, and got my parts from hydor for my evo 1400's. Modding the 1400 covers to be "more" reliable on the wavemaker. LED light strip coming soon to accent the T5's.

BTW Todd, no ill effects "yet". Both appear to be doing better then before, so thats all I hope for.
