2 part in auto top off

Has anyone tried putting 2 part in there auto top off? I was about to buy dosing pumps from BRS when this came to mind. I'm sure it would take some time and testing to get the concentration right but, two less pumps to maintain. Any thoughts or suggestions on this?

It doesn't really work. You might be able to add one of the two that way, but if you put the two in there together you will get precipitation.

would the precipitation be any different than in the display tank?

You can't mix the two solutions

Yes, it would be far worse than mixing in the display. There is no amount of dilution with fresh water that allows you to mix them until it is so dilute that it isn't worthwhile doing. In seawater they are far less prone to precipitation.

You can put one part in the top off, but not both. If you go that route, I'd put the alk part in the top off.

Most of us using top off this way use limewater in it. That supplies both calcium and alkalinity.
