2 petco Gigs

Saturday morning 21w led Par38 bulb

Sunday morning 150w mh + 4 t5 bulbs for about 4 hours but it didn't respond good so I turned it off did 100% water change and added cipro.

Monday morning I will place the 150w halide over it again and see what happens

It responded positively but I think it was reaching a little bit asking for more light. Here's a pic taken right now in the completely dark room

The mouth is still a little open but it is looking much better. Hopefully tomorrow when the lights go on it responds better than today

Not looking good today. It was deflated and letting out a lot of crap. Here go some pics from this morning and one from now with lights on.

At 2 pm I will do a 80% water change then add Cipro and then it goes in complete darkness until tomorrow morning. I won't give up until the gigantea gives up first

I would reccomend doing a 100 percent water change, you have very cloudy water which is a sign of stress and the anemone is releasing stuff into the water.

I treaded it with Cipro from day one. I tried out different lights and it definitely responded better to the lower light

Not saying anything about cipro, but I have even seen leaving the tank almost dark, if not ambient lighting for several days (depending on the gig).

For our green Gig, I didn't have to cipro, but he went under 135W of LEDs right away, full on with no issues.. He didn't look like yours does though. It all comes down to the individual animal. Some need a nice dark place until they get stronger, some don't need it and are ready from day one.

Thinking about it now I think I should have left it in the dark for a few days. When it was in the dark it was always fully inflated but when lights went on it usually shrunk a little. Les son learned wuth this one but they are all different and some may respond to light better than others and that's a decision we have to make very fast. Lots of light, low light or even complete darkness

We just need to do what the animal tells us, or watch their behavior. If they behave well in darkness after cipro, start out slow. With the Mag I treated, during day 1-3 when it looked awful, I kept my LED fixture a good 2-3' above the tank. So it got light, but a TINY bit... I slowly raised it, and raised it.

On the green gig which was just QT'd and not treated, I started with 135W of LED brightness baking it basically about 6-7" above it with no ill effects.

Listen to our animals.. that's what we need to do.

Great read. My petco carries gigs from time to time. Where did you buy your cipro from and what are the recommended dosage for cipro per gallon?
