I have a few colonies of both of these types of algae in my tank. (At least I think they are algae). I was just wondering what they were and if I should leave them alone or not.

looks like dictyota & brown wafer algae.
both are extreme pest species.

Any special way to remove them? Or just by hand?

your best bet is to scrub the rocks. i haven't heard of
much that will eat either one. i've been battling the
wafer algae in my reef for months. hit the search button
up top, there's a bunch of info on dictyota & a little bit on
wafer. good luck.

#2 looks like a Padina species. (your brown wafer algae )
