2 questions on breeding clowns

Posted under clown forum but thought maybe more experienced help here.

1) live rotifers is the choice food but, has anyone been able to use frozen (defrosted) rotifers? (I know dry foods have worked)

2) the eggs hatch when the lights go out however, one can interupt this by disturbing with bright lights. The eggs seem to hatch the following day when the lights go out again. Would delaying the hatching actually help strengthen the eggs/larvae by hatching a day later?

thanks for your thoughts.

Frozen rot's have had some limited success for some, but very limited. Nothing I would consider for any purpose other than trying to save some fry when you have a surprise spawn or your rot culture crashes at a bad moment.

Delaying hatch is not likely to help. They are designed to hatch when ready and start eating, delaying will just delay the eating part and more likely weaken them rather than strengthen them.
